According to Russian observers, Venezuela’s current President Nicolas Maduro won the elections legitimately. Telegram channel State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said:
“Citizens voted for the current President Maduro. By the way, according to our observers, he won legitimately, albeit by a small margin,” the State Duma spokesman emphasized.
According to Volodin, the elections in Venezuela took place under conditions where the US-backed opposition was allowed to participate in the electoral process. Volodin said the results did not satisfy Washington.
As a result of the elections lost by the opposition supported by the United States, the speaker of the State Duma called for unrest in the country and attempts to destabilize the situation in the state.
In this regard, Volodin noted that lies, provocations and double standards have become integral methods of US policy.
Before this, the USA reputed Opposition leader Edmundo González Urrutia won the presidential election and called for a “peaceful transition of power” in Venezuela.
Previously in Venezuela stated about the complete suppression of protests after the elections.
