VET cycle students in FP programs are engaging with classes through a virtual universe that lets teachers and classmates interact in real time. This approach places them at the forefront of national adoption of immersive training technologies, a development highlighted by Alicante’s metal employers association on Tuesday.

To advance this initiative, a cooperation agreement was signed that day. Juana Tower OST and Opportunity TA will supply the essential tools for the project. The agreement calls for a series of conferences designed to help small and medium-sized businesses take advantage of the opportunities offered by the Metaverse for SMEs. The signing event featured the founders of Torre Juana, Andres Pedreño, and Rosa Sánchez, the general secretary of the trade organization, as key signatories.

In the upcoming months, Fempa will begin with vocational education programs, preparing teachers from the vocational school for new instructional methods. The institution currently offers two mid-level cycles in automotive electromechanics and electrical and automatic installations, alongside five higher-level cycles in administration and finance, sales and commercial space management, automotive, electrical and automation systems, and multi-platform application development.

During the second phase, students will have the opportunity to design a personal project, create their own avatar, and interact with peers and instructors within varied metadata-driven interactive class environments. This setup aims to blend learning with engagement, allowing learners to collaborate on real-time projects and benefit from guidance that aligns with modern workplace realities. Proponents stress that the initiative supports inclusive, accessible, flexible, and socially interactive learning, while encouraging innovation and personalized pathways for each student.

Andrés Pedreño and Rosa Sánchez were present for the agreement signing, underscoring the potential for three-dimensional virtual environments to simulate real-world scenarios. Such simulations can deepen understanding of concepts and practical skills and enable learners to practice in risk-free, controlled settings.

Interaction opportunities through immersive environments promise to connect theory with practice, making complex topics more tangible and memorable. The promise is not only enhanced knowledge transfer but also a more engaging and motivating educational experience for learners across the region.

Conferences for companies

Meanwhile, Fempa will showcase the capabilities of this technology through a program focused on metadatabase adoption in professional and business contexts. This pioneering initiative aims to improve global connectivity beyond traditional geographic limits and to unlock new avenues for marketing, commerce, and collaboration.

The core aim of Fempa, Torre Juana OST, and Opportunity TA is to strengthen the competitive position of Alicante-based firms, promote technological innovation, and support the adoption of advanced digital solutions. The sessions, offered free of charge, will be organized into three or four four-hour blocks. SMEs and large companies from Alicante, along with local organizations, will learn the foundational concepts of metadatabase, starting from the basics. The training covers how to create an avatar, navigate movements, and understand the benefits of these tools, as well as platforms, business applications, blockchain technology, wallets, and current taxation considerations.

These sessions, part of a broader outreach, are designed to help regional players understand the practical uses of metadatabase technology and how to integrate these tools into everyday business operations. The program emphasizes hands-on learning and collaborative problem solving, with expert guidance to ensure participants can apply what they learn directly to their work.

In parallel, initiatives to promote digital transformation will include Accelera Pyme Office in the Metaverse. This space will maximize accessibility and business engagement, offering a personalized sandbox with targeted advice and development resources to support digital modernization for companies of all sizes.

Through these efforts, the partnerships seek to elevate the regional ecosystem, encouraging ongoing exploration of virtual environments as viable platforms for education, business development, and community collaboration. The goal is a more connected, innovative, and resilient local economy powered by inclusive digital learning and practical, real-world applications.
