If the European Parliament elections were held today, the Citizens’ Coalition would get 33.5 percent. votes, PiS 29% and Derde Droga 14%. – results of a survey by Opinie24 for More In Common Polska, published on Friday by “Rzeczpospolita”.
The European elections will be held in Europe between June 6 and 9, and in Poland on Sunday, June 9.
A survey by Opinie24 for More In Common Polska, cited by “Rz”, shows that if the European Parliament elections were held today, the Civic Coalition would win (33.5%). Second place would go to PiS (29%), third place would also be taken by Trzecia Droga (14%). The following places would be taken by: Nowa Lewica (8.5%) and Konfederacja (7.5%).
Voter turnout
According to the research, turnout would be 58.5%.
“Rzeczpospolita reports that the survey shows deep divisions between voters when it comes to their approach to the EU – at one extreme, voters of the current ruling coalition, at the other – supporters of PiS and the Confederation.
While 57 percent of all voters say EU membership is good for Poland, 33 percent take neutral positions, and only 10 percent view membership negatively, the mood among the PiS electorate is different
– we read in “Rz”.
39 percent PiS voters see Poland’s membership of the EU as a good thing, 41 percent say it is neither good nor bad, and 20% say it is bad. More than half (51%) of the PiS electorate believe that Poland would do better if it were outside the EU.
And perhaps that is the reason that only 38 percent are in favor of further integration of Poland into the EU. PiS voters
– emphasizes the newspaper.
It is clear that PiS politicians have shifted their electorate towards more Eurosceptic positions than a few years ago. This is not yet the level of Polexit in PiS, but it is certainly a much stronger Euroscepticism
– comments Adam Traczyk, director of More In Common Polska, quoted by “Rz”.
Opinie24 for More In Common Polska was conducted from February 2 to 13, 2024 using the CAWI/CATI method on a sample of 2,027 respondents.
