The turnout for Sunday’s parliamentary elections stood at 72.9 percent, according to an Ipsos survey conducted for TVP, TVN, and Polsat.
Turnout by region
Mazovia recorded the highest participation at 78.3 percent, while Opole reported the lowest at 66.1 percent, based on the Ipsos exit poll published on Sunday evening. The national figure reflects voters leaving polling stations after casting their ballots, with a total turnout of 72.9 percent.
Regionally, Lower Silesia saw 71.7 percent turnout, Kuyavian-Pomeranian 72 percent, Lubelskie 70.3 percent, Lubusz 69.6 percent, Łódź 68.8 percent, Lesser Poland 74.3 percent, Mazovia 78.3 percent, and Opole 66.1 percent. Podkarpacie reached 69.3 percent.
In Podlaskie, turnout was 69.5 percent; Pomeranian Voivodeship recorded 77.6 percent, Silesian Voivodeship 74.8 percent, Świętokrzyskie 71.9 percent, Warmian-Masurian 67.3 percent, Greater Poland 75 percent, and Western Pomeranian 68.3 percent.
The research also highlights urban versus rural differences. Rural areas showed a turnout of 69.5 percent, while larger cities demonstrated higher participation. Cities with populations above 50,000 reached 73.1 percent; those with 51,000 to 200,000 inhabitants were at about 73 percent. Urban areas with 201,000 to 500,000 people recorded 81.5 percent, and cities with more than 500,000 residents reached 78.9 percent.
Age distribution of voters
The data indicate a strong presence of voters aged 50 to 59, with 83.2 percent of voters in that age group participating. Women represented 73.7 percent of those who voted, while men accounted for 72 percent. Overall, 83.2 percent of voters fell in the 50 to 59 age bracket.
Among age groups, 78.5 percent of people aged 40 to 49 participated, and 72.3 percent of those aged 30 to 39. Voter participation dropped to 68.8 percent among 18 to 29-year-olds, while 67.0 percent of people aged 60 and over took part.
Turnout by gender
Predicted turnout for the referendum showed 42 percent among men and 38.1 percent among women. The Ipsos exit poll also examined age-related voting patterns, noting that the highest turnout occurred among people aged 50 to 59, at 45.7 percent. The lowest turnout was among the youngest voters, 18 to 29, with 32.5 percent participation.
For the 30 to 39 age group turnout was 40.3 percent, for 40 to 49 it was 40.2 percent, and for those over 60 turnout stood at 40 percent.
