Polish EU Elections: Official Results, Seats, and Abroad Outcomes

The National Electoral Commission has announced the official results of the European Parliament elections. We, the citizens of Poland, have elected 53 deputies to the European Parliament from a field of 1,019 candidates, said Sylwester Marciniak, the commission chair, at a press conference. A total of 11,829,725 votes were cast, producing a turnout of 40.65 percent.

During the press briefing, the National Electoral Commission disclosed the finalized election results.

We, the people of Poland, have chosen 53 deputies to the European Parliament from 1,019 candidates, emphasized Sylwester Marciniak, chairman of the commission.

According to him, 11,829,725 votes were cast in the elections, yielding a turnout of 40.65 percent.

How many mandates per party?

In the EP elections, KO secured 21 seats, PiS 20, Konfederacja 6, Trzecia Droga (PSL and Poland 2050) 3, and Left 3.

37.06 percent of the vote went to the Civic Coalition, Law and Justice received 36.16 percent, and the Confederation closed with 12.08 percent. The overall results are as follows:

Civic Coalition – 37.06 percent (21 seats). 4,359,443 people voted for KO.

Law and Justice – 36.16 percent (20 seats). 4,253,169 people voted for PiS.

Confederation – 12.08 percent (6 seats). 1,420,287 people voted for Confederation.

Third Way (PSL and Poland 2050) – 6.91 percent (3 seats). 813,238 votes were cast for this list.

Left – 6.3 percent (3 seats). 741,071 people voted for the Left.

Nonpartisan Local Governments – 0.93 percent, 108,926 votes.

PolExit – 0.25 percent, 29,195 votes.

These committees were not given the right to allocate seats

The head of the National Electoral Commission, Judge Sylwester Marciniak, announced the number of seats allocated to each electoral committee at a press conference on Monday.

In the order of list numbers, Trzecia Droga (list No. 1) received 3 seats, Konfederacja (list No. 2) 6 seats, Civic Coalition (list No. 5) 21 seats, Left (list No. 6) 3 seats, and Law and Justice (list No. 7) 20 seats.

The head of the National Electoral Commission also named the committees that were not authorized to distribute seats. These include Non-Party Local Government, Polexit, Normal Land, Liberal Poland — Strajku Przedsiębiorców, Ruch Reprawy Polski and Głos Nielnej Polska.

Results abroad

Civic Coalition was strongest among Polish voters in Russia, receiving 44.64 percent of the votes. The community in the Russian Federation backed the coalition most strongly, with Marcin Kierwiński drawing the most votes (9). Confederation ranked second among Poles in Russia, led by Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik with 4 votes. PiS was third with Małgorzata Gosiewska ahead in votes in that region.

In the United States, Polish voters overwhelmingly supported Law and Justice. The main opposition party led the results by a wide margin. PiS captured 51.73 percent of votes in the United States, while Civic Coalition earned 25.01 percent. Confederation finished with 14.48 percent.

Among Poles in the United States, Sebastian Kaleta led with 1,740 votes, followed by Marcin Kierwiński with 647 votes and Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik with 772 votes.

In Britain, the Civic Coalition garnered the most support, with Confederation and Law and Justice following in that order.
