Guides for Black Myth: Wukong
How to get an old rattle
The Old Rattle is a legendary key item that players receive after defeating the Acolyte of the Tiger at Yellow Wind Ridge. Like many pivotal game items, its purpose may not be immediately obvious. The item rests near the Windrest Hamlet Shrine. From that shrine, head straight along the path until you reach the bridge where the Boss awaits.
The Tiger Acolyte presents a moderate challenge with relatively low health but high damage potential. There is a real risk of falling off the bridge, so approach the edges with care.
How to Use an Old Rattle
The Old Rattle can be used only in three designated locations. When the screen turns gray and a prompt asks you to use the rattle, you have found a valid spot. Here is a closer look at each location.
Windseal Gate, yellow wind formation
From Wind Gate near the Yellow Wind Formation Temple, proceed straight along the path, then cross the rope bridge. After the bridge, take a left at the logs to enter the targeted area.
Upon entering, the screen will gray out. Explore until the prompt to use the Old Rattle appears. Triggering it will resurrect corpses in the area, initiating combat. Defeat them before moving forward to the next section.
Wind Support Hamlet, yellow wind formation
Starting at Hamlet Windrest, which houses the Yellow Wind Formation temple, turn around, follow the path downward, and enter the village. Once inside, take a left until the screen gray fills, then use the Old Rattle when prompted.
After activation, the nearby corpses come to life and attack. Clear all enemies and proceed to the next location.
Village Entrance, Sandgate Village
From the Sandgate Village Shrine entrance, cross the bridge, then go right into the village. Once inside, keep left and follow the route until you reach an opening that leads to the large area where the boss named Aardwolf is located.
Head north to the shrine, enter, then go left to reach the desired zone. Continue until the screen grayouts again and use the Old Rattle when prompted.
If the aardwolf boss has already been defeated and the gate opened before obtaining the Old Drum, players can skip the village and head directly to the Crazy Tiger boss area via the gate.
