In the opening chapters of Black Myth: Wukong, players uncover hidden zones accessible only by completing a secret quest. These concealed areas reward exploration with valuable loot, fresh shrine locations, and challenging boss battles. In Chapter 1, the journey through Black Wind Mountain leads to these hidden spaces, and the following guide reveals how to reach them.
Guides for Black Myth: Wukong
Three bells
To unlock the secret region in Chapter 1, adventurers must locate and ring three bells scattered across Black Wind Mountain. Approach each gazebo-like structure and interact when within range. A brief cutscene plays as the bell rings. The player must find three of these structures in total.
1 bell
From the Forest Shrine, follow the path across the bridge toward the arena where the Yaoguai Chief Guangzhi was faced. The bell sits in a small gazebo beside the battlefield.
2 bells
From the Marsh of White Mist Shrine, backtrack to the arena where Yaoguai Chief Guangmou stood. The bell rests on a short staircase that leads from the arena.
3 bells
Resume at the Marsh of White Mist shrine and continue along the wooden dock to the large pool where the Whiteclad Noble was fought. Instead of entering the prominent building illuminated by torches, enter the cave on the left. The bell lies beyond the clearing on the far side of the cave.
Ancient Guanyin Temple
After the third bell rings, a cutscene transports players to a secret locale known as the Ancient Guanyin Temple. The path leads to the first courtyard where the Grand Courtyard Shrine is found, along with three large chests, one of which holds a piece of Guanyin’s prayer bead armor.
Entering the next courtyard triggers a battle with the venerable elder Jinch. The arena is filled with smaller corpse enemies that add pressure to the encounter.
Jinch’s offense mirrors the Wandering Wight boss, featuring sword swings, teleportation, and illusion summoning. The strategy centers on eliminating the corpses before they reach the boss, which prevents healing, while dodging his moves and landing counterattacks during openings.
After defeating him, players return to Bell 3 and interact with the hanging corpse to claim the Fireproof Mantle artifact.
