How to participate in the Mist Dungeon: Sand Realm event
Participation requires a Player Rank of 20. No other conditions are needed to enter.
Open the events menu and switch to the Mist Dungeon tab. Choose a level you want to tackle and assemble a team of trial heroes.
Note: to earn extra rewards when finishing certain dungeons, players should trigger specific reactions. Details follow below.
How to complete the Test of the Roaring Whirlwinds dungeon. How to pick a squad and finish the challenge
Each dungeon grants a bonus for creating particular elemental reactions. In the Roaring Whirlwinds trial, the target reaction is Spread.
Activating this reaction boosts all characters, increasing the party’s damage by 50%/75%/100%/125% for 10 seconds. Damage can rise further by completing special tasks during the trial.
Team composition matters. A squad full of Anemo characters is not advised, as it blocks certain reactions such as Charged.
The optimal team to complete this dungeon includes Anemo options from the Wanderer and Faruzan, along with Ye Lan and Fischl to enable other reactions.
As the dungeon progresses, there are additional tasks beyond the main objectives. Finishing these boosts the team’s damage for the remainder of the challenge and can even revive fallen heroes in some cases.
Additional tasks are shown with a sword icon on the map.
Getting through the dungeon starts with a good map read. The map reveals six trials: three main and three extra.
Details on which extra tasks increase damage and which restore life are not always obvious and must be discovered during play.
To unlock the final challenge, players must clear all three main tasks and defeat every enemy on the map. The enemies include Kilichurly and slime of various elements, hermits, and molds with different element affinities.
Along the journey, special icons can be found that raise hero damage and restore health.
Final phase: do not skip the side missions, as they provide a significant damage bonus for the whole team. After finishing the main tasks, completing at least two additional challenges helps level the team for the final confrontation.
Then proceed to the dungeon entrance and activate the ruin’s control panel to open the elevator that leads to the final test.
The final arena features a group of level-90 deserters. After completing several side missions, the challenge becomes much more manageable.
When the last opponent falls, the test ends.
Rewards include Source Stones (40), Mora (20,000), and an Agnidus Agate fragment (1) for clearing the challenge; and Bronze Stones (20) plus other items for activating the Disperse reaction 30 times.
How to pass the dungeon Test of the Forest Thunderstorm. Which team to choose
As noted, a bonus exists for certain basic reactions. In this stage, the Stimulus reaction is activated by a mix of Dendro and Electro elements.
When a boosted enemy is struck, the chance of a critical hit increases by 10%/15%/20%/25%, and critical damage goes up by 20%/30%/40%/50%. Completing special tasks during the challenge can raise these values further.
Which team to choose
Elemental heroes Dendro and Electro are needed to trigger the Stimulus reaction in this dungeon.
The optimal squad to pass this dungeon includes Dendro and Electro elements to ensure the Stimulus reaction triggers reliably.
Organizing the team this way enables the necessary status effects on enemies and raises the odds of critical damage, further boosting overall output.
Additional tasks differ from the previous dungeon in both type and number of enemies. Completing them yields a bonus to critical chance and critical damage rather than raw damage.
The map location for these extra tasks mirrors the earlier dungeon.
How to get through the dungeon
The final battle unlocks after finishing the three main tasks. Players will face an array of foes, including Hiriluchrly and lavachurly, combat mechanics, and Fatui agents.
Don’t overlook the special icons scattered on the map, as they increase hero damage and vitality.
Final battle: at the end, players encounter two primordial constructs and an eternal disaster dragon. These foes hit hard and sustain longer battles.
Sequential use of Dendro and Electro abilities creates the Stimulus reaction to deliver critical damage. Once the last foe is defeated, the challenge ends.
Rewards include Bronze Stones (40), Mora (20,000), and Varunada Lapis Lazuli Fragment (1) for clearing the challenge; and the Stimulus reaction (30 times) grants Source Stones (20), Mora (20,000), and Grace of Blooming Oasis (2).
