What is Electro Fern

The Electro Fern arrived with Update 3.0 in the world of Genshin Impact. It stands as a world boss within the Sumeru region. The opponent is an intelligent plant that mutates to absorb energy from the earth. As it collects electrical power, it unleashes it toward nearby beings. The burst of energy can be lethal to those caught in its path.

How to reach the Electro Fern boss

The map marks the Electro Fern’s location. Players are advised not to ascend the mountain from the south, east, or north alone. Instead, use the quick travel to the Dendro Archon statue in the southern Motiima forest and locate the cave entrance. Move forward and inspect the passage on the right.

From the teleport, follow the path to a small fork. Turn onto the right-hand path and head straight to the boss. There is no need to attack immediately.

Proceed along the arena’s left side, then ascend to the path. A second teleport sits northeast of the arena and should be activated as needed.

What skills does Electro Fern use?

The foe employs several repeating attacks akin to other plant bosses. Each ability has a specific exploitable pattern described below:

  1. Ground strike – the boss Charges the ground with a surge of electricity that travels in a straight line, knocking any hero struck to the ground. Dodging is straightforward by moving to the left or right of the wave. While the boss remains grounded, it can take damage.
  2. Reversal – the boss slams the ground and spins, leaving the electric flow behind. Players should move away to avoid harm.
  3. Circular laser – a short arc beam appears around the boss. A few steps backward typically dodges it.
  4. Arrows – two long plant roots fire multiple shots. They aren’t aimed directly at players, making it easy to dodge in any direction.
  5. Stamen – electric seeds land on the field and explode after a delay, dealing significant arena damage. They must be shattered with ranged or melee attacks as soon as they appear.
  6. Ray – a strong beam of electricity launches in a straight line. Move left or right to avoid it, then slip behind the boss to strike from the rear for big damage.
  7. Pillars – energy streams erupt from the air. Ground markers indicate upcoming surges; back-and-forth movement helps dodge the heavy hits.

How to beat Electro Fern and claim the rewards

The best approach starts with studying the boss’s attack patterns and maintaining timing to dodge blows while breaking fallen stamens to prevent a colossal explosion. Keeping distance and using long-range weapons is advised.

Targets include the weak points: the base core and the large electric eye at the head. Reducing their health stuns the boss, allowing a burst of powerful attacks to finish the fight quickly.

Stamens can only be destroyed with elemental skills and element-based detonations. While stamens are active, damage to the boss drops to about 20% of the heroes’ normal power.

In combat, Cryo or Pyro elements excel at disrupting electric foes. Building a rotation with main and two supporting characters is recommended, ensuring at least one long-range option for seed destruction.

To maximize rewards, players should meet all four conditions during the encounter. First, destroying a stamen triggers the message The core of Electro Fern begins to form in its corolla as a seed lands on the arena and must be broken. Second, another stamen must be shattered with a similar cue about energy flowing to the roots. Third, the boss must be defeated before two stamens cause an electrical explosion. If two seeds appear, they must be eliminated quickly. Fourth, stunning the Electro Fern by striking the Electro Core near the plant’s root section will immobilize the boss for a long window, allowing a decisive finish.

After meeting these four conditions, players will receive the maximum rewards from defeating the boss.

What are the rewards for defeating Electro Fern?

Beating the Electro Fern yields several valuable bonuses. The rewards vary with the world level and include:

  1. Thunder Fruit (1 to 3 units) – a new artifact that drops from the Electro Fern. No current heroes or weapons directly utilize the artifact.
  2. Multiple items from the sets Healer, Instructor, Exile, Lightning Shaman, End of the Gladiator, and Wandering Ensemble.
  3. Character experience (200).
  4. Adventure experience (138 to 200).
  5. Friendship experience (30 to 45).
  6. Mora (3450 to 6000).
  7. Exalted Vajrad gems (amethyst shard, amethyst fragment, amethyst piece, and amethyst gemstone).
  8. Primeval resin (40).

Which team setup works best against Electro Fern

As noted, Cryo and Pyro characters are especially effective due to the synergy with electric foes. The recommended squad includes a main damage dealer, a secondary attacker, and two supports. A long-range ally is useful for seed destruction and sustained damage from afar.

  • Main Offensive Heroes: Eola, Ayaka, Hu Tao, Dilyuk, and Eimiya.
  • Secondary Attacking Heroes: Rosaria, Ye Lan, Xiangling, and Gan Yu.
  • Support Heroes: QiQi, Bennett, Kokomi, Zhongli, and Dione.

When two strong attackers are available, it helps to pair them with healers or shielders. Healers keep the team healthy, while shields reduce exposure to Electro Fern’s potent assaults.
