The battle against the Feathered Mold
Starting the encounter requires meeting two conditions first. Once those are met, players should head to the marked location on the map. After clearing the initial waves, the portal will appear at the top. A trampoline mushroom or a four-leaf symbol can be used to pass through and enter the arena.
You will ascend to a tree branch and continue forward into the boss arena. A teleporter sits behind the battleground; activating it ensures a quick return if needed while preparing for the fight.
The route leads to the boss arena, and forewarned players will appreciate having opened the teleporter beforehand so they can return to this point at any moment during the battle.
The optimal team composition for the Feathered Fungus encounter
- Primary damage dealer with Pyro: Yoimiya, Klee, or Yanfei
- Dendro support and reaction creator: Collei, Tighnari, or Traveler (Dendro)
- Shield user: Zhongli, Albedo, or Baizhu
- Healer: Xingqiu, Barbara, Bennett, or Jean
Preparation for battle
To maximize the main character’s offense, players should consider weapon and artifact choices that boost attack power. Before entering combat, consuming certain foods can raise attack and crit chances. A notable dish is The Seduction of the Adept, rewarded for completing the world quest Nine World Pillars. Another option is to open a chest on the floating island above Qingyun Peak after solving a local puzzle, with the location shown on the map.
The Seduction of the Adept is crafted from crab, shrimp meat, ham, and matsutake mushrooms. Ham can be bought from the Good Hunter or prepared with meat and salt. Shrimp meat is sold at Second Life and Old Sumeru. Maps mark the shops that carry these ingredients.
The matsutake mushroom is found in the open world. A slideshow gallery can offer helpful visuals for these locations.
In combat, boosting Pyro damage is advantageous. Fire oil can be brewed using a frog and a flaming flower, with map markers showing where these components grow.
Use the Antidendro Potion to reduce damage from fungus attacks. Twilight Rose and Crystal Cores are needed to craft it, and the map highlights where these flowers appear.
Nuclei drop from Crystal Butterflies. Use the maps to locate them.
Strategies for the Feathered Fungus fight
Here are practical tips. Fire-based attacks increase the boss’s vulnerability, so leading with a Pyro da mager is a solid choice. While occasional adds appear, they are manageable. Be mindful of the boss charging with a resettable shell that powers up Electro attacks; avoiding Electro users during this encounter helps prevent the shell from charging. When the boss leans forward before a headbutt, dodge to avoid damage. When the fungus pulls its tail and soon fires Dendro arrows at the hero, maintaining full stamina for side dodges is wise.
The boss delivers heavy melee strikes, so sustaining distance is essential. The Pyro character remains the main damage dealer, while the Dendro hero should drive elemental reactions rather than direct attacks due to high resistance to Dendro. A shield helps mitigate incoming blows, and healing should be used as needed.
