Finding the graves is straightforward. Large rectangular complexes glow with a bluish or golden aura, depending on the area. Currently, two major regions host shrines: Mondstadt and Li Yue, each housing ten shrines. As the world expands, more graves are expected to appear.

Approaching the Shrine of the Deep prompts the player to use a key. Collecting everything is a challenging endeavor. Keys, like shrines, are region-specific; keys for Li Yue’s graves cannot be used in Mondstadt, and vice versa.

Keys can be obtained in several ways:

  • clearing territories;
  • completing quests;
  • leveling up;
  • progressing through the Adventurer’s Guide.

Keys in Mondstadt

The simplest route to the first keys in Mondstadt is to clear the zones:

  • Temple of the Falcon (rank 12) = 1 key;

  • Temple of the Wolf of the North (rank 15) = 1 key;

Next to Starfall Lake, at the base of the Temple of a Thousand Winds

  • Temple of the Lion (rank 18) = 1 key;

Near Dadaupa Gorge

  • Eagle Gate (Rank 21) = 1 key.

In the southeast of the region, close to Cape Vera

Chapter tasks from the Adventurer’s Handbook also grant keys: finishing chapter 4 upgrades the Seven statues in Mondstadt to level 6, and chapter 5 requires uncovering 100 chests, yielding 1 extra key each upon completion.

Two quests grant keys directly:

  • New Adventure Horizons = 1 key (awarded by a Mondstadt character named Katherine);
  • Adventure Rank Ascension I = 3 keys (the quest appears automatically upon reaching rank 25; the zone is on Starcatcher’s Rock in Mondstadt).

Keys and Shrines of the Deep in Li Yue

Gaining all keys in this region is tied to reaching rank 35. Li Yue is a larger, more puzzle-heavy area than Mondstadt, making the search for graves more intricate.

Stripping Zones:

  • Abandoned Ruins (rank 24) = 1 key;

Guili Valley is one location for exploration

  • Winding Path (rank 27) = 1 key;

Tianheng Mountains hosts more paths

  • Hidden Palace of Gui Zang (rank 30, rank 35 for level 2) = 1 key for each level;

Lake Luhua area contributes additional tasks

  • Secret of Chi = 1 key (speak with Yang Er near the teleport under the Wuwan ramp and in front of the Stone Gate, at the Bishui Plain ruins);

  • Lone Tree = 1 key (speak with Yuan Hong in Minyun Village);

There are notes and clues scattered through a house that must be read to complete a task.

  • Volatile Treasure = 1 key (start the quest by speaking with Soraya at the Guili Valley ruins);

  • Adventure Rank Ascension II = 3 keys (like the first time, this quest is given by Katherine, but in Li Yue).

It is important to remember that advanced zones can yield multiple keys at once as players progress through difficult tasks.

Though locating all Shrines of the Deep might take time, it does not require completing every shrine in one sitting. Keys and shrines will often appear as play continues, enabling return to already cleared areas. Screenshots highlighting all shrines in both regions can be a helpful reference.

Keys and Shrines of the Deep in Sumeru

The newest region in Genshin Impact hides several secrets, including four Shrines of the Deep. Finding keys is a bit easier now, thanks to the Tree of Dreams and the Dendro Archon statue.

  • Dream Tree Ascension Level 8 = 1 Key (see our guide for details on leveling the Dream Tree).

  • For the second, fourth and sixth levels of the Dendro Archon statue = 3 keys (dendrocules are needed to level it; a guide with their locations is available).

To uncover all Tombs, exploration must cover every corner of Sumeru.

The First Sanctuary of the Deep sits near the arena with the Feathered Mold, a new Genshin boss.

    The second sanctuary sits atop the Chatrakam cave region. Fast travel to the indicated point, then head east. From the hill, the Tomb of the Deep lies beneath a large tree.

      To reach the third sanctuary, travel to Port Osmos, climb a nearby hill, and activate the fast travel point. If you’ve visited before, simply teleport to the location marked on the map. The grave lies nearby.

        The final sanctuary sits near the Dahri ruins.

          For access, quickly travel to a nearby hill and then slide down.
