How to start the Breaking the Waves Challenge series
These challenges run from July 15 to August 14, 2022. To begin, players must reach Adventure Rank 32 and finish a few key tasks:
- Archon task “Autumn wind, crimson leaves”
- Mona’s legends task “What the stars of this world say”
- The quest Another vacation in the archipelago of the Golden Apple, for which there is a separate guide
After completing these, open the Events menu, choose Summer Sea Trip, click Event Description, and select Breaking Waves to access the challenges.
How to complete the first set of Breaking Waves challenges
The initial stage presents three objectives:
- Finish the challenge in under 140 seconds
- Use Breakwater Sprint once
- Apply Texturing three times
Proceed to the indicated map point.
Summon the wave rover and take the helm. Interact with the red buoy to advance the challenge. Prepare for dives at checkpoints and keep an eye on the green energy orbs that restore Haste. When orbs align with the wavewalker, trigger the corresponding elemental ability to draw them in.
The technique is known as structuring. Activate sprint with the attack input to clear the second and third trials. Near the finish, jump out of the breakwater, fly through airborne rings, and land at the marked spot. If sprinting has been used, achieving 140 seconds becomes easier.

How to pass the second set of Breaking Waves challenges
Three goals stand here:
- Complete the challenge in under 260 seconds
- Finish the challenge in under 140 seconds
- Destroy two obstacles
Summon Wavewalker and start the race. Remember which obstacles can be destroyed by sprinting. Fences and small towers break not by Breakwater contact, but reefs and large towers remain intact. Watch out for balloons; if they float, collide with devices, if they sit on barrels, swim past.
Destroying objects helps not only for the third trial but also uncovers shortcuts to the next checkpoint. This makes it possible to pass all markers within 140 seconds. It can be wise to skip extra sprints and save the sprint for later approaches. If an obstacle cannot be destroyed, maneuver around it to avoid extra delay.

How to pass the third set of Breaking Waves challenges
Three tasks await in this phase:
- Complete the challenge in under 260 seconds
- Finish the challenge in under 140 seconds
- Use the breakwater sprint at least four times
Energy orbs appear near obstacles. To avoid wasting time on extra sprints or slowdowns, approach closely and trigger Structuring. New destructible barriers may appear as you progress, so be ready to sprint again.
