Support for political parties
If elections were held next Sunday, the ruling Law and Justice party would likely secure the largest share of votes. The Civic Coalition would place second, while the new partnership of Szymon Hołownia and PSL would complete the podium, according to the latest IBRiS survey conducted for Polsat’s Wydarzenia program. The poll also included questions related to the 800plus program.
The current government party could be backed by about 34.5 percent of respondents. The Civic Coalition appeared at 24.6 percent, and the Hołownia PSL coalition trailed in third. The alliance known as Third Way – Poland2050 with PSL was estimated at 14.2 percent support.
Two additional groups were reported to be in contention for seats in the Sejm: Confederation with roughly 11.1 percent and Left, at about 9.3 percent. A portion of respondents, 6.3 percent, were unsure who they would support. Voter turnout was projected at 61.1 percent.
What ratings for 800 plus?
The survey also explored public stance on increasing the 500plus benefit to 800 PLN. The option was seen as favorable by 30.9 percent who answered “absolutely yes,” and 23.8 percent who chose “rather yes.” In contrast, 29 percent firmly rejected the increase, with 13.1 percent indicating they were leaning toward a negative view but not certain.
Tusk’s idea from June 1
Respondents weighed in on Donald Tusk’s proposal to implement the 800 plus benefit on June 1 rather than January 1, 2024. The idea received an “absolutely good” rating from 21.6 percent, while 20.7 percent characterized it as “fairly good.” A sizable 36.4 percent labeled it “absolutely bad,” and 16.9 percent deemed it “rather bad.” The remainder remained undecided or uninterested in the question. The data reflects the impressions of a broad cross-section of voters across the country.
The IBRiS survey for Polsat’s Wydarzenia was conducted May 19–21, surveying 1,020 adults using a CATI approach, which involves computer-assisted telephone interviewing. The findings provide a snapshot of current political sentiment and policy perceptions ahead of the electoral cycle.
