Restalia Holding, owner of 100 Montaditos, La Sureña Jarras y Tapas, The Good Burger, Panther Organic Coffee and Pepe Taco, introduced a new local format in Portugal: the 100 Montaditos kiosk. It remains the same brand, yet the kiosk offers the full 100 Montaditos menu in a compact, distinct space designed to speed up service and broaden reach.
Restalia has long pursued continuous innovation and, a few years ago, began integrating this kiosk concept into its flagship brand, 100 Montaditos. The company is now actively internationalizing the concept and extending its footprint beyond Spain into Portugal for the first time with this model.
This launch marks a milestone for Restalia because it is the first time the kiosk format is introduced outside of Spain. The underlying approach has already been tested domestically, which supports faster openings and more streamlined operations as the concept scales.
Restalia emphasizes that the Portuguese market is a key component of its international growth strategy. The positive economic outlook of the euro area makes neighboring Portugal a strong prospect for further expansion and development of the group’s brands.
The new 100 Montaditos is situated at the Oeiras Parque shopping center, in the Lisbon metropolitan area. The restaurant opened to the public last June and adds menu items priced at nearly one euro, including the popular empanadas, Portuguese specialties, and the Euromanía promotion that has become a hallmark of the brand.
In addition to the core offerings, the menu features tapas and snacks such as nachos, chips with gravy, and chicken popcorn, with a vegan option also available, along with gouda cheese. These items can be found on supermarket shelves as convenient options for enjoying at home as well.
In just two years, Restalia achieved a doubling of its presence in Portugal, growing from 19 stores in 2019 to 38 locations across the country. This rapid expansion underscores the effectiveness of the brand’s approach in the Portuguese market and signals a solid trajectory for future growth.
For 2022, Restalia projected continued momentum, aiming to add more than 25 new business units and to roll out its five brands in the market. The current Portuguese network includes 100 Montaditos, The Good Burger, and Pepe Taco, with Cervecería La Sureña Jarras y Tapas and Panther Organic Coffee planned for openings in the near term.
