Menjars de la Terra: Mountain Region Restaurants Celebrate Local Cuisine

Five eateries representing l’Alcoià, El Comtat and La Foia de Castalla have unveiled their seasonal menus for the new edition of Menjars de la Terra, showcasing each venue’s commitment to delight diners with thoughtfully crafted experiences. The participating restaurants invite guests to visit their spaces and discover these curated offerings in person.

From 8 to 12 April, the initiative unfolds across the Alicante Mountains, with a schedule that pairs each day with a different restaurant. On Monday, the journey begins at La Gruta de Víctor in Alcoy; Tuesday brings guests to Casa Vicenica in Cocentaina; Wednesday features Casa Paqui in Castalla; Thursday rounds out the week at Pirámide in Banyeres de Mariola; and Friday concludes at L’aplec in Onil. The region’s gastronomy week highlights regional flavors in a compact, five-day tour, supported by the Provincial Council to promote local producers and culinary traditions.

In this refreshed season, Denominations of Origin councils within the province actively participate, reinforcing a shared dedication to Alicante products and the provenance behind each dish. The focus centers on two emblematic marks: Alicante Mountain Cherry and the Traditional Spirits of Alicante, both proud DO distinctions that anchor the event’s terroir-driven narrative.

These days are open to the public and present a rare chance to sample the gastronomic treasures that define the province. Diners simply contact the chosen restaurant to reserve a table and join the culinary celebration in a friendly, informal setting.
