Why Lilith’s altars matter in Diablo 4
Diablo 4’s open world spans five regions, each hiding secrets, tasks, and numerous foes. Among these are Lilith Altars, statues scattered across Sanctuary that must be activated to grant rewards. The altars offer permanent bonuses that apply to the entire account, not just a single character. This makes early leveling and progression easier for any subsequent heroes a player creates.
Altars of Lilith are small statues dedicated to the demon Lilith. They do not require seasonal reactivation, and their bonuses persist across play sessions. A total of 160 altars exist in the game, and visiting them all yields increased stat bonuses and currency rewards from in-game merchants that can be spent on random items. Activating each statue grants 10 Glory points within its region, experience toward the current character, and a permanent boost to one of several attributes.
For each altar activated, players receive: 10 Glory points for the region, experience for the active character, and a permanent upgrade to one of the following attributes:
- +1 leveling point;
- +2 strength;
- +2 agility;
- +2 willpower;
- +2 intelligence;
- +5 to maximum Whispering Obols.
In total, activating all 160 Lilith Altars grants +68 strength, +68 agility, +68 intelligence, +68 willpower, +100 to maximum Whispering Obols, and +4 pump points. This makes a full altar run a worthwhile long-term investment for players looking to maximize their hero’s potential.
