Teatre Arniches is primed for a bustling season with a festive Christmas campaign featuring two standout offers. Dance now with Tejada by Marta Alonso stands out as one of the season’s most acclaimed productions, touring to Alicante after earning top honors such as the Revelation Show in Galicia in 2021, the FETEN 2022 Award, Best Night Show, Best Direction, Best Performance, and Best Lighting at the Ribadavia MIT Festival, plus the Audience Award at the 2021 FETEGA Best Show, and recognition from the 2021 María Casares Awards. Friday, December 16 at 20:30.
Arriving in Alicante at 19:00 on Sunday the 18th, Anti-Romantic Manifest unfolds as an electro-opera that questions whether love can thrive in an age of physical consumption. It interweaves music remix, performing arts, and audiovisual elements that counteract technological narcissism with the rhythm of Valencia electronics Prozac Soup.
This programming includes Teatre Arniches’ own presentation within the offer. Cultural Bonus for 18-year-olds from the Ministry of Culture, aligned with Generalitat’s Cultura, allows tickets to be purchased with digital cards at the box office.
From Nadal to Arniches will be presented to audiences with three family-friendly shows on December 26, 27 and 28 at 18:30, blending theatre, music, circus, and magic.
Thanks to the magic of Valencian Nacho Diago presenting in Alicante, Nadal al Arniches will close with a magical note: Playtime.
On December 26 Teatre de L’Abast and La Fam Productions bring a musical stage to life with I’m this H!, a cross-disciplinary experience weaving stories by Charles Dickens with contemporary musicals and puppetry for the whole family this Christmas. On Tuesday the 27th, Yllana & Tötem bring Rubbish!, a lively, energetic show about recycling through percussion, movement, and humor.
Gesture theatre, circus, and music define these two specialist companies as they entertain audiences of all ages. Nadal al Arniches will close with a magical moment presented in Alicante: Play Time, a show for the whole family that begins with object theatre, clowning, music, humor, and illusion presented as a visual, surreal poem.
A programming slate with more than thirty offers
New information about the quarterly program from January to March reveals more than thirty opportunities. An official from the Cultural Institute of Valencia, Alicia, notes these results come from a public-centered plan. The aim is to keep theatre accessible for all: for adults and children, for those who visit to learn or simply to unwind, yet all for fun and inspiration. The program is notably diverse, united by a single thread: quality.
Nine theatrical performances join five music events, four family shows, two dance pieces, two circus presentations, and ten cinema dates. Thanks to La Filmoteca, Arniches is mapping the winter schedule for the first quarter of the year.
Additionally, nine school sessions are integrated into the program. The School Campaign 2022-23 expands its presence by 20% this year and spans nearly all locations, engaging primary and secondary education audiences.
Ticket sales begin on December 13 with the Gran Abonament, Abonament Jove, and à la carte Abonament options, available until January 13. Individual-seat sales start on December 20.
January begins with a January 13 theatre-circus show, Queen of Arga, a FETEN 2022 Best Performance winner featuring Estefanía de Paz Asín and a historic nod to the Arga Queen Remigia Echarren. The show celebrates the life of a noted late-19th to early-20th-century tightrope walker from Pamplona, Remigia Echarren.
On Saturday the 14th, IVC presents Depedro in an acoustic concert. Jairo Zavala, the soul behind Depedro since 2008, has toured five continents and worked with musicians worldwide in multiple languages. His recordings have reached more than thirty countries. Depedro now arrives at Arniches, performing songs from the studio album Máquina de Piedad and the live record Antes de que Nochezca.
January also features three theatre performances: This Work by La Zafirina y el Gatopardo, which earned four nominations at the Generalitat Valenciana Performing Arts Awards; Disease of the Mountain, a collaboration between Teatro Español and Buxman Producciones directed by Francesco Carril and Fernando Delgado-Hierro, which will also visit Arniches. The dance section closes January with Dead by Lasala, a company formed in 2013 by Judith Argomaniz, part of Ballet Biarritz Junior and Amaury Dance Company, renowned for performances by Nacho Duato, La Macana, and Shlomi Bitton.

March demonstrations
March opens with Qué sabe nadie o les cançons de Penèlope, a La Peydro project that reimagines a long piece after winning the Russafa Escénica 2020 award.
