Arniches opens 2023 with a vibrant circus and music program. Teatre Arniches presents a selection of events from January through March, spanning theater, music, family shows, dance, and cinema. According to the Cultural Institute of Valencia, Alicia notes that these offerings are the product of a public-starred plan. The aim remains clear: a theater for everyone — adults and children, those who seek learning, and those who simply want to unwind and be inspired. The program is diverse, with one shared goal: quality.
Nine theatrical performances, five music events, four family shows, two dance programs, and ten cinema dates contribute to a mapping of Arniches programming for the first quarter. Thanks to La Filmoteca, the season lays out a rich calendar that reflects the venue’s commitment to variety and immersion in the arts.
There will be nine school sessions integrated into the season. The 2022-23 School Campaign expands its reach by twenty percent this year, touching nearly every location and engaging both primary and secondary education audiences.
Tickets go on sale December 13, with the Gran Abonament, Abonament Jove, and à la carte Abonament offerings available. These initial sales run through January 13, and individual tickets remain on sale as well.
January 13 features the theater-circus performance “Queen of Arga,” a FETEN 2022 Best Performance winner that explores circus history and tightrope technique, centered on the life of Arga Queen Remigia Echarren. The show highlights the era when a woman named Remigia walked the tightrope and captured Pamplona’s imagination in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
On Saturday the 14th, IVC presents a Depedro acoustic concert. Jairo Zavala, the talent behind Depedro since 2008, has travelled across five continents collaborating with musicians worldwide. The project has released recordings in more than thirty countries. Depedro performs songs from the studio album Máquina de Piedad and the live album Antes de que Nochezca.
In January, three theater performances unfold: This Work by La Zafirina y el Gatopardo, which received four nominations at the Generalitat Valenciana Performing Arts Awards, will also appear on Arniches’ stage.
