A Provincial Chess Circuit in Alicante
More than a thousand chess players have taken part in the provincial circuit since November 2022, with each participant competing in unique tournaments that avoid repetition. Promochess has organized this circuit in Alicante, delivering six rounds at venues including Elche on two occasions and drawing an average of about 150 players per event.
Launching an initiative that spreads the game across the province and signaling a plan to continue into next year marks a clear success. Confirmed plans include Promochess continuing to expand and refine the Provincial Chess Circuit, with ongoing collaboration from local authorities. This update was shared with the press by Marcos García, a master nominee of the International Chess Federation and the circuit’s sporting director, who emphasized the drive to improve and grow the event.
