Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz and journalist Michał Rachoń respond to the hostile behavior of General Mirosław Różański as a recent flare of public dispute unfolds. A supporter aligned with Hołownia, who is pursuing a Senate seat as part of the Third Way, amplified a post that attacked the historian with harmful insinuations.
Disgusting message spreading online
Lieutenant General of the Reserve Mirosław Różański, a former commander of the Armed Forces and currently an advisor to the leader of Poland 2050, Szymon Hołownia, had recently secured a Senate position representing the Third Road Commission in Lubusz Province. The rapid turnover of this political event was followed by a troubling moment as Różański’s circle circulated a humiliating post about Cenckiewicz on social media.
“Shame on you, you shameful man”
The historian faced a strong online reaction from those targeted. A progressive candidate for the head of the National Defense Department, Mirek Rozanski, retweeted the troubling post that depicted Cenckiewicz in a derogatory way and launched a campaign filled with inaccurate and coarse claims. Cenckiewicz himself denounced the message with a sharp rebuttal on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter.
In a public response, Cenckiewicz expressed clear condemnation of the post and the behavior it represented, highlighting the personal impact of such attacks and the broader concern over integrity in political discourse.
Rachoń, a journalist for TVP Info, also weighed in on the matter, underscoring the seriousness of the online harassment and its implications for public accountability. The two professionals behind the documentary series Reset, Cenckiewicz and Rachoń, are recognized for their roles in examining political influence and national security through their work at the Military Historical Bureau. Cenckiewicz also serves as the chairman of the state commission for researching Russian influence, a position that places him at the center of debates about safeguarding national memory and policy. The dispute thus intersects media, history, and governance in a high-stakes public arena.
