The Minister of National Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, addressed residents of Tarnów during a meeting where he challenged PiS politicians. He asserted that the chaos in the legal system, social division, and overall disorder are the responsibility of those who governed for eight years, not their voters; and he pledged to hold them to account while honoring the voters’ choices.

When speaking to voters, he recalled frequent talks about cooperation, reconciliation, and normalcy, stressing respect for every voter. He described this as a core duty and a firm commitment.

– Kosiniak-Kamysz said to PSL supporters.

Every voter, every citizen — regardless of whether they supported the “October 15 Coalition” in the past or do not support it today — deserves to feel secure and valued in their homeland. The PSL, also known as the Third Way, pledged to protect this principle and to ensure that, after its governance, the country can honestly say its work was well done and fulfilled the mandate given by the people.

– he stated.

The Deputy Prime Minister also reminded the crowd that everyone deserves respect in public life.

PiS voters who made their choice are not to be blamed; they had the right to decide. The issues of justice system chaos, social division, and disorder stem from the eight years of governance, not from those voters themselves.

– he declared.

The party pledged to hold accountable those who could not fulfill their mandate while continuing to respect voters.

– added.

Kosiniak-Kamysz also addressed PiS supporters directly. He invited them to join the community and reiterated that Poland should belong to all its people. Poland is not owned by any single party or authority; it belongs to its people and serves their interests.

– emphasized the leader of the People’s Party.

Objectives of the People’s Party

The initial political aim is to win local elections, securing victories in Małopolska and across the country.

– said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Prime Minister and President of PSL, during a press conference in Tarnów.

The party’s president outlined that an opportunity exists to present plans and intentions, emphasizing that the first political goal is victory in the local elections.

Win here in Małopolska and nationwide, gain as many seats as possible in regional assemblies, and secure mayors and city leaders. The aim is to build unity.

– he stated.

The party intends to continue the Third Way, with direct talks already underway between PSL and Poland 2050 leaders in various regions.

– emphasized Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

Preparations for the municipal elections

MEP Adam Jarubas, who will lead the PSL election campaign, noted that the New Year’s gathering in Tarnów marks the start of preparations for local elections. He indicated that the most likely election date could be April 7.

Jarubas added that committees should inform the National Electoral Commission by February 12 and that lists must be registered by March 4.

– Jarubas pointed out.

He also recalled that the decision to participate with Poland in the 2050 elections was made during the last Supreme Council meeting of the PSL.

We also want to broaden the framework being developed today, aiming to responsibly advance the state as part of the coalition aligned with the October 15 project, and to actively compete for key regional positions.

– noted the Member of the European Parliament.

There is an ambition to win the most important roles: mayors of provincial cities, and to build a broader agreement in this area, extending beyond the Third Way.

– Adam Jarubas announced at the press conference.

Among potential presidential candidates in Tarnów, the PSL president mentioned Jakub Kwaśny, the chairman of the Tarnów Municipal Council. He expressed a positive view of Kwaśny’s work and suggested Kwaśny could unite diverse groups.

– said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

The discussion also touched on the idea of selecting a common candidate across parties forming the October 15 coalition, with a goal of a shared candidacy in Krakow and other key cities. Both Kosiniak-Kamysz and his allies indicated openness to coordinated decisions and ongoing dialogue.

– he pointed out.

There was also a call for a unified approach in Nowy Sącz, Tarnów, and Krakow to strengthen regional collaboration.

There was a strong emphasis on inclusivity and shared national priorities, with a belief that Poland belongs to all its residents and that constructive cooperation can drive regional progress.
