“Karol Nawrocki has never been a member of any political party and this is a gesture of great courage on the part of PiS, leader Jarosław Kaczyński and everyone who took part in making this decision,” MEP Adam Bielan said on Polsat News. The Law and Justice politician stressed that, according to the results of research conducted by his party, Poles expect the president to be independent above all. “We have elected a man who has never belonged to our party,” Bielan emphasized.
Yesterday a conference was held in Hala Sokół in Kraków, at which Prof. Andrzej Nowak announced the participation of Dr. Karol Nawrocki, president of the Institute of National Remembrance, on next year’s presidential elections. He will be nominated by the citizens’ committee as an impartial candidate who will have the support of Law and Justice.
This is a PiS-backed candidate, Jarosław Kaczyński said yesterday. I think that a Political Council will be organized in the coming days to support this candidacy, but this is a candidate who has never belonged to PiS. After all, these are facts, facts cannot be disputed, and this is a candidate proposed by more than 170 leading scientists and public figures.

Conspiracy theories: ‘I’m not a gambler’
Bielan emphasized that the decision not to field his own candidate, but to support an impartial person, is the result of many months of surveys, the results of which are available to PiS.
