On Friday morning, Donald Tusk, the candidate for prime minister of the KO, Third Way and New Left coalition, held a meeting with candidates for future ministers in his cabinet. At the briefing after this meeting, the PO leader said, among other things, about the composition of his future government.
Candidates for Donald Tusk’s government
Tusk confirmed, among other things, that Radosław Sikorski is the candidate for Minister of Foreign Affairs. He said that the future Minister of Justice will be former Ombudsman Adam Bodnar, the Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański, and Barbara Nowacka (KO) is a candidate for Minister of Education. MP Dariusz Wieczorek (New Left) will in turn become Minister of Science. Czesław Siekierski (PSL) will also join the government, as Minister of Agriculture, and Adam Szłapka as Minister of the European Union. Tusk also reminded that the Ministry of Industry will be located in Katowice, headed by Prof. Marzena Czarnecka.

Jan Grabiec becomes minister-member of the Council of Ministers, head of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, and Maciej Berek – secretary of the Council of Ministers, chairman of the Government Legislative Center.
At the end of November, President Andrzej Duda swore in the new government of Mateusz Morawiecki, formed after parliamentary elections in the so-called first constitutional step. On December 11, the Prime Minister will present a statement to the Sejm with a motion to grant the government a vote of confidence. If he does not get it – and the PiS club has 191 MPs, which does not provide a majority – the Sejm will take over the initiative on the election of the prime minister and the government. The coalition of KO, Third Way and Left has the majority, 248 MPs. The majority candidate for prime minister is Donald Tusk.
