Tusk sees Sikorski as head of the Foreign Ministry; making this man head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is harmful to Polish relations in NATO – wrote PiS member Beata Szydło on Platform
During Friday’s conference, the candidate for Prime Minister of the KO, Third Way and New Left coalition, leader of the Civic Platform, Donald Tusk, announced that Radosław Sikorski is a candidate for the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
After meeting with candidates for future ministers in his office, Tusk said that “Radosław Sikorski is a Member of the European Parliament and his duties as a Member of the European Parliament were holding him back. He must resolve formal issues before becoming a minister. Yes, he is running for secretary of state. Nothing has changed here.”
Former Prime Minister and PiS member Beata Szydło commented on this information on the X platform (formerly Twitter).
Tusk sees Sikorski as head of the Foreign Ministry. That of Sikorski, who not so long ago became a hero of the Russian media when his entry suggested American participation in the blowing up of Nord Stream. Sikorski, who previously led the #reset with Russia by admitting Lavrov to a meeting of Polish ambassadors
– she wrote.
As Szydło added: “Making this man head of the Foreign Ministry is detrimental to Polish relations in NATO.”
At the end of November, President Andrzej Duda swore in the new government of Mateusz Morawiecki, formed after parliamentary elections in the so-called first constitutional step. On December 11, the Prime Minister will present a statement to the Sejm with a motion to grant the government a vote of confidence. If he does not get it – and the PiS club has 191 MPs, which does not provide a majority – the Sejm will take over the initiative on the election of the prime minister and the government. The coalition of KO, Third Way and Left has the majority, 248 MPs.
