According to Gazeta Wyborcza’s findings, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Krzysztof Gawkowski will be appointed deputy prime ministers in the government led by Donald Tusk. The head of the People’s Party will also be Minister of Defense, and the deputy head of the New Left will take on the position of head of the Ministry of Digital Affairs. It cannot be ruled out that the name of the third deputy prime minister will also appear.
Kosiniak-Kamysz and Gawkowski deputy prime ministers
Proposals have also been announced regarding the division of ministries. The editorial staff of Czerska reports that the Civic Coalition wants to have power in the Ministry of the Interior and Administrative Affairs and in the ministries of Justice, State Property, Finance, Health and Culture. The Ministry of Education and Science will likely be divided into two ministries, but for now – as an opposition source told GW – the possibility of such actions is being monitored.
In the event of the split of MEiN, education will be in the hands of KO and Trzecia Droga. It has also long been known that the left seeks power in this area.
Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, who will also become Minister of National Defense, will become Deputy Prime Minister. In addition to this ministry, PSL will also receive Agriculture and Infrastructure, and Hołownia and Poland 2050 will receive the Ministries of Climate and Foreign Affairs.
Krzysztof Gawkowski from the left will become the second deputy prime minister and minister of digitalization. Moreover, the left is also expected to address social issues.
Interestingly, the opposition does not want to change the structure of the government because what matters is the act and therefore the decision of the president. And the lack of the president’s signature on the bill is a “collateral conflict.”
According to the ‘GW’ interlocutor, the reforms can be implemented during the government’s term of office.
Rotating speaker of the Sejm
What about the issue of the Chairman of the Sejm? The idea that this is a rotating function is opposed by the Third Way. Szymon Hołownia and Włodzimierz Czarzasty are competing for the marshal’s seat and this rotation had to be a compromise. The Sejm session is scheduled for November 13. The first office of marshal would be held by Hołownia, and after two years he would be replaced by Tzarzasty. Interlocutors of ‘GW’ claim that Czarzasta wants too much for his election results according to the Third Way. In turn, the left argues that the Third Way is not a party, but an ‘electoral project’, which is ultimately divided into PSL and Polska 2050 – then the representations are comparable.
The government’s opposition puzzle must be ready within a few days, just like the coalition agreement.
