Barbara Nowacka, a member of parliament from the Civic Coalition who was re-elected in the parliamentary elections, decided to blackmail President Andrzej Duda in an interview with TVN24. ‘President Duda has things on his conscience that are difficult to forget and forgive […]. We must not forget that any damage done to the dignity of the Republic of Poland must be taken into account. (…) Today it just depends on him how PiS will transfer power, largely on his attitude,” she said in an interview with Konrad Piasecki on TVN24. Other Civic Coalition politicians spoke in a similar tone.
“He is the President of the Republic of Poland, not that man from the cabaret.
The opposition, which together with the Confederation has won more seats together than Law and Justice, is now trying to force President Andrzej Duda to entrust his candidate with the mission of forming a new government. There are several ways to do this, including: Blackmail.
We expect the President to remember that he is the President of the Republic of Poland, and not that gentleman from the cabaret sitting at Mr Kaczyński’s door. We expect PiS to finally figure it out
– emphasized KO MP Barbara Nowacka in an interview with TVN24.
Political honesty also implies that President Duda is guilty of things that are difficult to forget and forgive
– she added.
We must not forget that any damage done to the dignity of the Republic of Poland must be taken into account. For today, however, we will have to have some kind of dialogue with Andrzej Duda. Today, it simply depends on him how PiS will transfer power, largely on his attitude. Which doesn’t change the fact that he behaved in a way that was against the law
– said the politician.
“Mr. President handles this habit selectively.
MP Marcin Kierwiński also expects the President to entrust Donald Tusk with the mission of forming a government. In an interview with Polsat News before the election lull, the head of state assured that – according to custom – he would first turn to the party that achieved the highest result.
Mr. President seems to be selective with this habit. It is the custom to entrust the leader of the largest party, who has the opportunity to create a majority. I listen to the statements of all parties except PiS and everyone says: there are no talks with PiS. It is impossible for a PiS candidate to get a majority
– said Kierwiński, visiting Polsat News today.
“It no longer depends on Kaczyński and Nowogrodzka”
PSL MP Marek Sawicki also decided to ‘advise’ the president on who to entrust with the government.
If I could advise, and I believe that the President is the President of the Republic of Poland, and therefore of all Poles, and not the President of Law and Justice, if there would be an advisory group of the winning parties, of parliamentary size to the President with a proposal for their candidate for Prime Minister, I would like to advise this proposal
– he emphasized in an interview with RMF FM, adding that the Head of State should also withdraw the motion regarding the Supreme Court law from the Constitutional Court.
I expect that the president will be the president of all Poles. Especially since it is no longer dependent on Jarosław Kaczyński and Nowogrodzka. So if he wants to function and complete his second term as a politician and become a statesman, he must rise above political divisions and, for the good of the Republic of Poland, begin normal cooperation with this parliament.
– said the parliamentarian.
“So far he has shown no evidence of national thinking.”
Katarzyna Lubnauer of the Civic Coalition also decided to play on the president’s emotions.
The president should give the opposition a chance if he was guided by the well-being of Poland. Due to the uncertain situation in Ukraine and Israel. But we know that this president has not yet demonstrated such national thinking
– said the politician yesterday in an interview with Onet.
Will the president give PiS time to destroy the documents? Does he want to give PiS time to hide some things? Does he want to give PiS time for some of them to settle elsewhere?
– Lubnauer insinuated.
“If the president wants to save face
PO spokesperson Jan Grabiec also focused on playing on emotions.
If the president wants to save face and show that he is the president of all Poles, he cannot appoint as a candidate for prime minister someone who does not have a majority in the Sejm. Then the president and the formation that would nominate a PiS candidate for prime minister will make fools of themselves
– he said in an interview with TVN24.
Michał Kobosko from Poland 2050, who, like Grabiec, was a guest on “Fakty po Faktach” last night, said:
We know what he has to do. The question is what the president will do. Because the President is not obliged to do what seems the most sensible and logical today and what would be normal in a democratic state, in a state governed by the rule of law, that is to say, entrust the mission of forming a government to a representative of the coalition that has a majority in the Sejm.
Any other solution that President Duda would choose would be an unnecessary waste of time that we do not have and that Poland does not have.
– said Kobosko.
As you can see, the opposition still shows no respect for President Andrzej Duda. Still, the success of many initiatives of the future government, as well as the creation of the cabinet itself, may depend on the head of state.
