Armenia requested assistance from the European Commission regarding the arrival of a large number of displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported by TASS Citing Italian government officials.
According to officials, refugees now need basic needs and hygiene materials.
It is known that “Italy, which is working to stabilize the region and establish dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan, immediately activated its services.”
As announced by the Armenian side, more than 100 thousand internally displaced persons arrived in Armenia from Nagorno-Karabakh.
On September 19, Azerbaijani authorities announced a local operation in Karabakh. Baku declared its aim as “suppression of large-scale provocations”, disarmament and withdrawal of Armenian army units from the territory of the region.
