That same Friday marks a turning point as nearly half of the ITV stations in the Valencian Community are set to transfer into the custody of the Valencian ITV Society, a public company under the Ministry of Economy. This transition will shift the management responsibilities to the new entity. The affected stations include Alcoy, Benidorm, Torrevieja, Villena, Redován, and Orihuela, while the remaining half reach the end of their concession on March 3, a package that also covers Alicante and Elche.

Just yesterday, the company activated a new dating service on its platform. It was forced not to schedule appointments because several franchise partners decided they could no longer be responsible for a service they would not provide. Although the decree required them to proceed, Rafa Climent commented, “given the cooperation we have had in recent months, we did not trust what they could do. So, to prevent potential issues, we chose to enable this service now.”

no legal action

Climent has decided against pursuing legal action despite the breach by the partner companies. In his own words, “the aim is a calm, conflict-free transition so there is no court case if they leave behind the infrastructures we had planned.”

Josep Antoni Albert, manager of the Valencian ITV Community, explains that the online system is mobile-friendly and accessible through the Sitval link. Through this platform, community users can pick the ITV station that best fits their needs, then complete a form with personal and vehicle details and schedule an inspection day and time from Monday to Saturday, 08:00 to 19:30. The initial phase will see the new tool operate alongside the existing websites Circuititv.com and itebasa.com, which will keep providing appointment services until the end of March. By that date, online appointments will be available exclusively through Sitval. Circuititv.com currently covers stations in Alcoy, Alzira, Gandia, Ondara, Ontinyent, and Xàtiva, plus mobile units in Teulada, Benissa, Ibi, Castalla, Cullera, Sueca, Alginet, Quesa, and Xàbia. Itabasa.com handles mobile units in Redován, Villena, and light-vehicle appointments in Novelda, Monóvar, Elda, and Pinoso.

An order from the economy obliges ITV to make an appointment by June 30

Albert emphasizes that a clear roadmap has been laid out and this is another advance toward ensuring that the public service remains available across the Community. The executive also announced a new brand and corporate image to help users recognize the ITV services offered by the publicly traded company. The new mark, Sitval, features blue and green tones and was created by the Gimeno Gràfic design agency.

Meanwhile, the same concession areas in Redován and Orihuela signed seven-year lease agreements with the concessionaires this Thursday. This arrangement will allow continued service at those two stations and at the mobile units in Elda, Novelda, and Pilar de la Horadada. The lease price will be calculated based on the number of inspections conducted. Following these deals, and in line with other stations, Generalitat will assume management and staffing responsibilities.

Climent states, “the region is leaving a dark era behind.” Economy Minister Rafa Climent confirms that the reverse process will restore trust, improve reputation, and enhance the quality of service across the ITV concessions. He notes past controversies, including investigations into commissions related to ITV concessions and wind farms in the Community, and he affirms the public administration’s commitment to delivering a higher quality, more affordable service for citizens.
