Two alleged perpetrators were arrested in connection with a wave of home robberies across the Marina Alta region, according to the Alicante Command. The suspects, two Albanian nationals living in Benidorm, reportedly moved through neighboring areas to carry out the attacks. Jewelry valued at around 4,500 euros, various electrical items, and at least 3,500 euros in cash were seized during the operation. A court in Dénia ordered their detention, and civil guards are examining whether the detainees participated in similar burglaries elsewhere in the country.
The operation, named TwinWhite, unfolded under the Prevention of Home Robbery Plan. In the course of the arrests, the two individuals faced charges related to 51 separate entries into homes in the districts of Benitachell, Teulada-Moraira, and Jalón. The detainees were placed at the disposal of Denia Investigation Court No. 1, which ordered their remand in custody, according to civil guard sources.
The investigation began in April, prompted by a rise in home robberies in Teulada-Moraira, Benitachell, and nearby towns. The Xàbia Civil Guard Post Investigation Area launched the Gemeblanca operation to identify those responsible and bring them to justice.
Initially, investigators analyzed data and materials obtained during the inquiry to map the modus operandi and assess possible involvement of two Benidorm residents. The vehicles used and the access methods to homes were scrutinized. The review confirmed the suspects’ involvement in 51 home robberies across Benitachell, Teulada-Moraira, and Jalón.
Record
During the operational phase on July 11, investigators conducted a coordinated operation with support from the Sinology Service and the Citizen Security Unit (USECIC), both part of the Alicante Civil Guard Command. Officers searched the suspects’ residence, resulting in the arrest of the two men and the seizure of two related vehicles. In addition to the vehicles, authorities recovered jewelry valued at about 4,500 euros, video and audio equipment, household appliances, personal belongings, and cash totaling 3,500 euros taken from the attacked homes. The recovered items were returned to their rightful owners where possible.
The two men detained were aged 26 and 29 and are described as Albanian nationals. One of them faced charges for 51 counts of home entry and related offenses, and both were transferred to Denia Investigation Court No. 1, which ordered their detention in prison.
Civil guards emphasize that the investigation is ongoing. They do not rule out the possibility that the detainees participated in further robberies within the Alicante province. Authorities also noted that most of the items seized during the operation have been or will be returned to the victims.
