At the start of May, authorities noted a subtle rise in robbery cases in the Alto Vinalopó area. To address this, the Villena Main Outpost’s Research Area initiated a series of investigations aimed at clarifying the criminal acts and preventing social unrest. Guard

As the inquiries progressed and investigators analyzed patterns of operation, two Bulgarian nationals, aged 20 and 22, emerged as persons of interest. They were familiar to residents in the affected zones due to their pronounced criminal histories. Guard

Through meticulous information gathering, investigators confirmed the suspects were involved in offenses against property and the social order, with crimes committed in homes and rural properties across Beneixama, Campo de Mirra, Cañada, Biar, Villena, Salinas and Banyeres de Mariola. There is also a possibility they participated in a violent robbery at a betting shop in Villena, where cash was stolen along with a high-end clock. Guard

During the robberies, criminals took copper pipes, diesel, tools and other items, and they did not hesitate to inflict the necessary damage to complete their mission. The total value of the stolen goods and the damage is estimated at approximately 48,000 euros. Guard

As the investigation advanced, authorities were able to recover some stolen items, which had been traded in a second-hand shop in Elda. Guard

After accumulating sufficient evidence linking the suspects to the crimes under investigation, a coordinated operation led to their capture in the municipalities of Benejama and Villena on the morning of July 12. The detainees were brought before the Villena Court of Guard and Investigation, which decided to release both suspects with precautionary measures in place. Guard
