Dodit Entertainment, the project company focused on video games, esports, and education, concluded its second year with a turnover of two million euros, up 37.82 percent from the prior year. This performance places the Valencian Digital Region company well ahead of its economic and activity targets.
With only two years in operation, Dodit maintains more than 20 active cooperation agreements with universities and vocational training centers in the Community of Valencia. Information sessions were hosted at the Digital Zone facilities to showcase the company’s ecosystem, the professional profiles it seeks, and the work environment it is building. More than 400 students and teachers participated in sessions, and over 60 students completed internships at Dodit’s facilities.
Dodit Entertainment also supported a range of national and international esports competitions throughout 2022. The year featured nearly 270 broadcasts, totaling over 1,100 hours of streams in more than eight languages, reaching 14.8 million viewers across four continents by broadcasting from multiple countries.
On the international stage, events hosted by Distrito Digital last November included the Western Last Chance Qualifier, a European and American qualifier granting access to the TFT Dragonlands Championship, the first Riot Games world championship held in Spain. Domestically, Dodit’s facilities hosted the grand finales of the League of Legends and Valorant 2022 Storm Circuit.
Participation in the field of education
Dodit’s facilities also hosted the European final of the Amazon University Esports Masters with finalists from 13 of 15 participating countries. The company serves as the Spanish co-organizer of Junior Esports and the official Amazon University Esports educational competitions, alongside other educational and technological projects that demonstrate how esports and gaming can benefit learning. These initiatives promote values such as equality, respect, hard work, and the job opportunities available in the video game industry.
Among its strategic goals since inception is the improvement of its facilities within the Digital District and the management of projects that advance solutions for the esports and video game ecosystem.
One notable project is the development of an interactive tool for real-time management of data and graphical elements in audiovisual productions using Unity, a game design engine. This tool enables the live reproduction of animations and effects during broadcasts of global competitions from Alicante.
Another key objective is supporting local talent. The company has signed agreements with most Valencia Community universities to offer extracurricular internships, giving students firsthand exposure to the world of video games and esports and helping them discover new professional opportunities in these fields.
Dodit also participated in the Solfis project, an Applied Solutions initiative based on physiological measurements, during 2022. A cooperation agreement with the Valencia Biomechanics Institute (IBV) supports applying the project results to esports and gaming contexts. This initiative falls under the Community of Valencia call for R&D projects through the Valencian Institute for Business Competitiveness IVACE, with funding from regional authorities and European sources via the European Regional Development Fund ERDF.
According to Santos Montiel, CEO of Dodit Entertainment: “We are proud of the rapid growth the team has achieved. Since the company began, the aim has been to contribute to the socio-economic development of the Valencian Community, especially in the esports and gaming scene. The highly qualified professionals visiting our facilities demonstrate local talent in one of the most dynamic sectors of the global entertainment industry.”
