The Minister of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism, Nuria Montes, visited the facilities of Dodit in Alicante, a technology company engaged in projects connected to the video game and education sectors within the Digital Zone. The initiative emerged from the strategic collaboration between Digital Transformation Projects, a publicly traded association, and GGTech Entertainment.

Montes highlighted the value of public and private collaboration in advancing this venture. She noted that the Generalitat holds a 45 percent stake through SPTD, underscoring how this partnership has helped cultivate a cutting edge audiovisual and technological ecosystem. The result is a stronger Valencian Community, poised to become a reference point for innovation in video game and education sectors at both national and international levels.

She also pointed to the presence of GGTech Entertainment alongside Ciudad de la Luz as two pillars supporting the innovative audiovisual industry. This combination is seen as a key factor for growth and long term economic sustainability in the region.

José Parrilla, executive chairman of GGTech Entertainment, commented that the agreement with the Generalitat through SPTD has enabled Dodit to expand beyond the video game and e-sports niche. It has opened opportunities in a broader ecosystem marked by rapid growth, not only within Spain but globally. Dodit aims to position Alicante as a hub for broadcasting events from its virtual set and applied technologies, extending beyond games into serious games. The project seeks to create high value jobs for future professionals while fostering the exchange of knowledge that benefits both the local economy and the broader community.

The Distrito Digital initiative, launched three years ago, facilitated the establishment of GGTech Entertainment’s headquarters in Alicante. The company employs 91 people and operates in 26 countries across four continents, establishing itself as a leading international eSports entity with a track record of hosting numerous European and global video game finals.

Dodit maintains more than 20 agreements with universities and education and training centers. Over the past three years, more than 60 student interns have completed internships, and a faculty member with a master’s degree in video game development serves as a noted expert in interactive product development.

Montes stressed that government policy should support training programs that prepare workers for the new demands of the labor market, enhancing competitiveness in technology and innovation sectors. She asserted that the project has the potential to attract talent, bringing together a team of skilled professionals and promoting knowledge exchange that contributes to prosperity for both society and the region’s businesses.

In summary, the collaboration among public authorities and private partners in Alicante is advancing a robust regional ecosystem. It combines university connections, cutting edge digital media capabilities, and educational pipelines to nurture talent and stimulate sustainable economic growth in the Valencian Community.
