Overview of Cepsa Fuel Discounts and Programs in Spain

Cepsa has enabled a wide range of its customers to refuel more affordably. Gasoline prices, similar to levels seen in 2021, were driven higher by the 2022 energy price surge triggered by the Ukraine conflict, which raised the cost of liter 95 petrol and diesel at certain outlets above 2.00 euros in March. In response, Cepsa introduced discounts funded by state support and its loyalty initiatives, delivering substantial savings for drivers at its network of service stations. At today’s pricing, April 13, the discounts amount to as much as 45 cents per liter, translating to roughly a 25% reduction on the average fuel price across all Cepsa stations in Spain. These measures reflect the company’s effort to cushion customers from sharp energy price swings in a volatile market (Cepsa communications, 2024).

By leveraging exceptional energy price conditions, loyal private customers can realize savings of up to 16 euros for a 35-liter fill of conventional refueling, returning to price levels observed a year earlier for 95 petrol (€1.356 per liter) and, as of last October, for diesel (€1.375 per liter) (Cepsa corporate updates, 2024).

Customers enrolled in the company’s popular Porque Tú Vuelves program enjoy a direct discount of 30 cents per liter starting April 1. Of this, 20 cents come from government-approved support, and an additional 10 cents is an extra discount provided by Cepsa itself. The benefit is applied immediately, without requiring any future refueling or the use of a special application. Moreover, cardholders who pay with the Cepsa Visa card or the Carrefour Club card can stack another 10% discount, effectively boosting savings to 45 cents per liter for eligible purchases (Cepsa and partner programs, 2024).

The company also offers a simple, instant participation route for all customers through its website or directly at the pump. The Porque Tú Vuelves program currently serves more than one and a half million users, demonstrating broad reach and appeal among drivers seeking relief from rising fuel costs (Cepsa program data, 2024).

For professionals, transporters using Cepsa’s commercial cards can access savings of up to 30 cents per liter under current trade discounts, helping fleets manage operating costs across long-haul journeys and local deliveries (Cepsa wholesale updates, 2024).

Private individuals and business customers who do not participate in the Porque Tú Vuelves program or who do not use the professional card still benefit from discounts beyond the government bonus. Specifically, they receive an additional 5 cents per liter off, amounting to a total savings of 25 cents per liter on top of the base price (Cepsa consumer terms, 2024).

A special set of discounts, effective from April 1 and valid through June 30, applies to all fuels—gasoline, diesel, vehicle natural gas, and liquefied petroleum gas—across the entire Cepsa network in Spain, which includes roughly 1,500 operating stations. These concessions do not require a future refueling commitment and apply across the network, regardless of the fuel type, making the program easy to access for most customers (Cepsa promotions, 2024).
