7 Days to Die is a survival title that blends base building with harsh combat. Players must fend off local zombies while expanding a secure settlement. Throughout the game, resources appear both from exploration and barter with vendors. This guide explains how to interact effectively with the in-game traders.
Basic Information About Sellers in 7 Days to Die
- There is a single trader in each of the five biomes. The first location is revealed on the map after completing the initial main quests. Other merchants appear as you explore or complete designated tasks.
- Shops are housed in trader bases that are secure from zombie incursions. They operate on a daily cycle from early morning to late evening. Overnight stays in the trader’s home are not possible; after closing hours, traders move outside.
- Each trader offers a unique inventory that grows as they complete personal quests. Stock is refreshed on a three day cycle.
- Next to the trader, you will find supply chests and machines that let you purchase basic materials.
- Each seller also features a specialty item, offered at a lower price and with a wider selection than usual.
Trader Missions in 7 Days to Die
Trader tasks include scavenging for treasures, destroying targets, and other assignments. Completing these tasks earns reputation points. When a trader’s reputation hits ten, a special quest appears that enables recruiting a trader in another biome. Gaining ten more points unlocks the next merchant in a new area.
These tasks are straightforward but rewarding, offering experience, currency, and valuable materials. Reaching ten reputation levels unlocks a new shooting gallery and extra rewards, plus progressively tougher quests. Early tasks tend to involve small structures, while later ones occur in factories and fortified zones swarmed by aggressive zombies.
To start a quest, speak with the merchant about the job they offer. A player can activate two orders at a time on a given tier. After activating, head to the marked point and interact with the exclamation mark. There is no hard time limit, but leaving the location can fail the mission. A merchant may issue a limited number of tasks per day; if they run out, wait a night and return the next morning.
There are six distinct types of merchant quests in the game:
- Buried supplies: locate a boxed cache and dig it up with a shovel.
- Hidden bag: locate a supply bag and deliver it to the trader.
- To clean: reach the designated area and eliminate all zombies there; do not depart until the quest log confirms clearance.
- Bring it in and clean it up: a hybrid task combining elements from the previous two examples.
- Restoring power: available only at night. Reach the target, activate the generator, with rewards claimable during daylight hours.
- Cleaning up the infected: a tougher version involving wild and radioactive zombies, rewarding valuable resources and weapons upon completion.
How to Make Salespeople More Efficient in 7 Days to Die
The game includes two built-in advantages that streamline interactions with traders. Profitable trades reduce trader prices while increasing the resale value of the player’s items. The Daring Adventurer skill boosts rewards for completed trade tasks and broadens the range of goods offered.
Consumables that boost trading efficiency are worth noting. Chewing gum labeled Maybe and a cigar increase deal profitability by about 10 percent, while Grandpa’s Cool Rinse provides roughly a 20 percent boost.
Trader Rekt
This forest biome trader focuses on seeds and various edible goods. He remains a reliable contact for players pursuing farming as a long-term path. His stock is randomized across categories, so early on it’s wise to check in about every three days. There are moments when the needed item appears in his inventory.
Trader Jen
Jen stands out as a crucial early-game contact. Her stock includes antibiotics and other medical supplies essential for survival. Stock up on bandages and medicines to endure the next night when zombies are most active.
Trader Hugo
Hugo specializes in firearms. His inventory features rifles, pistols, ammunition, and crafting components. He is located in the snow biome, making access more challenging, and his prices are generally higher in the early game.
Trader Bob
From the desert biome, Bob shares expertise in vehicles and tools. He becomes especially useful mid-game if the player plans to craft a personal vehicle. Several vehicle components can be purchased from this trader.
Trader Joel
Towards the late game, when venturing into the wasteland, players should seek Joel. He offers armor sets that are crucial for survival in harsher environments.
