In the story campaign of Frostpunk 2 within the New London scenario, players are tasked with moving oil from the Old Dreadnought to New London. The game’s interface is visually striking yet oddly disorganized, which can hide the freight or resident transport menus or limit oil shipments to around sixty units. This guide offers clear steps to overcome those hurdles.
Where can I find the freight transport menu?
After establishing a colony in the Old Dreadnought, the objective is to transfer seventy‑five oil units to New London. The first step is to locate the Old Dreadnought colony icon and select it. Adjacent to the icon, a secondary menu with three icons will appear from left to right representing resources, people, and moving to the colony.
Choose the source icon, not the arrows around it. This opens the transport options for both goods and people. With the correct icon selected, the menus for shipping resources and moving residents become accessible.
The transport menu can be opened from any city or on any map level, whether you are in a city or exploring Frostlands. The key is to keep the icons straight and avoid clicking the wrong one. Resources cannot be sent directly to New London by tapping the wrong icon; shipments must originate from the colony itself.
Why is there only 60 oil available? How to ship 75 oil?
At first glance you might think it is enough to select oil, drag the slider, and send it to New London. In practice, the slider often sticks at sixty. The exact limit can shift with the tax applied to goods, and sometimes it rises to sixty six, but this does not fully resolve the problem.
Even if the reserves show a full tank in the warehouses, the system may not move beyond sixty or sixty six, and the slider remains stubborn. The root cause is insufficient oil production at the Old Dreadnought. Additional oil fields are necessary—ideally two more production zones. A single field typically yields about sixty units, so more fields raise the overall output to meet demand.
In other words, the issue is not a faulty script but production capacity. Do not worry if exact seventy five units cannot be achieved immediately; continue sending oil to New London whenever possible. If the task cannot be completed right away, progress will still be made, and waiting to reach the full quota alone would stall the game, potentially freezing New London.
Return to the Old Dreadnought map and gradually unlock more oil by expanding production. After establishing a second district, the limits are recalculated, and sending seventy five units becomes feasible. Without improvements, production caps at around two hundred units; trail routes allow about two hundred fifty, and the cable car can handle up to six hundred fifty units.
