Premiere Hogwarts Legacy, the upcoming Harry Potter game, is steadily approaching and more specifics are emerging. The developers have released a new video that officially introduces the actor who voices the Hogwarts director. The role is portrayed by Simon Pegg, widely recognized for his work in Type Tough Cops, The Boys, and Mission Impossible.

Phineas Nigellus Black, Sirius Black’s great-great-grandfather and a Slytherin alumnus, will be voiced by a celebrity performer. Pegg describes Phineas as a pompous, uncaring egotist who accepted the director position primarily for prestige and status. His portrayal is expected to bring a sharp edge to the character, blending arrogance with a hint of manipulation that could shape student experiences at Hogwarts.

“He’s a bit of an idiot. I think the only lesson students and players will learn from Phineas Nigellus Black is not to be Phineas Nigellus Black,” Pegg notes in the accompanying interview. The caption and commentary illuminate the director’s role as a source of tension and humor within the game’s Hogwarts setting.

As for the assistant director, Matilda Weasley takes that responsibility, brought to life by British actress Lesley Nicol. Given Matilda’s likely Gryffindor background, playful debates with Phineas are anticipated to add spice to classroom dynamics and the overall Hogwarts atmosphere.

Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled to arrive on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 on February 10, followed by releases on Xbox One and PS4 on April 4, and a Nintendo Switch launch planned for July 25. The game aims to deliver a richly detailed wizarding world, with an emphasis on narrative choices, exploration, and magical encounters that fans have long awaited.
