At the end of the prologue in Hogwarts Legacy, players can align with one of four houses: Slytherin, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw. The house choice shapes the living space and environment, but it generally does not alter core gameplay or the main storyline. The primary distinction is a unique task tied to each faculty, offering a personalized objective.

Unique tasks unlock after completing the extra mission “The Ghost of Our Love.” Notably, they all converge on a single objective: aiding the ghost of Richard Galkrad while locating the missing pages essential to the main plot. The quest is titled Calm of Galkrad, and the guide provides a path through it.
Ravenclaw Unique Quest: Ollivander’s Heirloom
Ravenclaw students embark on a unique quest that begins by assisting Ollivander, a craftsman whose family has crafted wands for generations. His shop sits in Hogsmeade. He asks players to recover a family heirloom — a wand Richard Galgrad once stole — and return it.
Heralded by some instruction cues, the path leads to Hogwarts’ Owl House, where a hidden wand location lies beneath a scene with carved niches. A small Jackdaw statue and five pedestals await interaction. Accio is used to move images of Jackdaws onto the pedestals, unlocking new niches and revealing the wand’s whereabouts.
Some statues can also be discovered by climbing to the Owlery’s summit and activating the niches from there. After collecting all footage, a cutscene triggers in which Galkrad agrees to assist in locating the wand and the pages. The quest then completes once the player returns to Scrope and reports back to the house elf.
In the cave environment, a short dive reveals a pedestal path toward Apollonia’s office. Acquiring the sorceress’s diary from the desk prompts a concluding cutscene with Galkrad, marking the end of the quest.
Hufflepuff Unique Quest: Prisoner of Love
Choosing Hufflepuff sets a unique quest in motion when the player speaks with Eldritch Diggory’s portrait in the faculty lounge. The portrait hints at connections to the Restricted Section and the case once investigated by his great-niece.
The pursual leads the player to Eldritch’s niece, a retired Auror, who shares details about a girl named Anna tied to Richard Galkrad’s death. Anna struggled with a riddle given by Galkrad, aimed at meeting a certain man. Though Anna did not solve it, Helen Thistle suspects she has since cracked the code. The sorceress is currently in Azkaban, wary of dialogue after prolonged Dementor exposure.
Following a conversation, the player visits Azkaban to speak with Anna and gains information about a cave located in Upper Hogsfield that contains a puzzle requiring careful manipulation. To solve it, the player uses Accio to move blue-highlighted blocks while Revelio reveals additional clues. A found note from Richard to Anna triggers a final encounter with Galkrad’s apparition, concluding the quest.
Gryffindor Unique Quest: The Hunt for the Missing Pages
Gryffindor players begin with a conversation with Nearly Headless Nick, located near the Great Hall entrance by the Hourglass. Nick desires admission to the Headless Hunters Club, which he cannot join due to his spectral condition. He asks the player to provide something suitable to secure his place.
This leads the player under the Great Hall into a room with a lively still life of fruit. Interacting with the pear in the painting opens a path to the Hogwarts kitchen, where a rotten roast beef rests among barrels. Ghosts have a sensory nose for spoiled food, which becomes crucial for progress.
Next stop is the pumpkin patch by Hogsmeade’s graveyard to meet the Headless Hunt. They repeat the rite of passage, and the player participates in a spectral version of hide-and-seek. Primal spells are used to destroy pumpkins illuminated by Revelio, eventually revealing Richard Galkrad.
Slytherin Unique Quest: Scrope’s Last Hope
Slytherin players receive a message from a house elf asking them to locate a second note hidden in the Clock Tower courtyard in the mouth of a griffin statue. This leads to the next clue behind a wooden bridge.
Using Accio to move a box onto a rock reveals the final note — hidden inside a pumpkin at the hill’s base. The pumpkin can be shattered with a primary spell to uncover its secret.
After extensive searching, the party arrives at a ruined harbor where Scrope, the director’s house-elf, asks for a ring from a cave. He mentions that its former owner, Apollonia Black, knew something about the needed pages and used the cave as an office. In the cave, a brief dive uncovers a pedestal path that guides the player toward Apollonia’s office. Grabbing the sorceress’s diary kicks off a cutscene with Galkrad, and the quest concludes once the player returns to Scrope and reports back to the house elf.
If there are any hiccups with the main storyline, a separate material details the Calm of Galkrad, offering a complete overview of all side missions.
