With the 2.7 update, Genshin Impact adds several story missions to explore. This guide explains how to complete the Archon quest chain Dangerous Path, and how to solve puzzles in every dungeon deep within the Rift.

Starting the Archon quest Dangerous Path: Interim Volume, Chapter 2
To unlock the quest chain, a few conditions must be met:
- Reach Adventure Rank 28.
- Complete the Archon quest The Approach of a New Star, Volume 1, Chapter 3.
- Finish Arataki Itto’s Legends Quest Heavenly Bull, Chapter 1.
- Complete Shogun Raiden’s Legends quest Mortal World, Chapter 2.
- Finish The cauldron is a full bowl.
When all requirements are fulfilled, open the task log and select the first available task from the Unexpected Guest entry.
How to complete the quest Unexpected Guest
Travel to the Rift’s lower levels to talk with Yan Fei. She will request a mate, and after that Arataki Itto and Kouki Shinobu will appear. Speaking with these heroes starts the main portion of the quest.
Proceed forward and descend into the Rift’s gorge. In addition to the previously mentioned characters, you will meet the new hero Ye Lan. Alongside new companions, you will enter the Rift’s underground mine.
Talk to Ye Lan first and enter the Cranes Dance Dungeon. Depending on your world level, the recommended squad level will appear. The fifth world level requires a squad level of 71. This begins the next quest, Underground Labyrinth.

Completing the Underground Labyrinth quest and solving the cranes dungeon puzzles
Interact with the device to activate stairs. Descend, defeat slimes, then activate the device again to rotate the adjacent platform. Climb accordingly.
Move forward and to the right. Defeat hilichurls and mitachurls, then activate a similar device three times. Return to the previous lever and rotate the middle platform again.
Next, battle more foes, then interact with the lone device and ascend to the platform above.
The final battle is tougher. Defeat two geowishaps to access a treasure chest and exit the dungeon. Return to the Rift, reunite with teammates, and finish the quest.

Completing the Dangerous Everywhere quest and arranging symbols in the City of Hidden Runes dungeon
After finishing the prior task, open the Paimon menu and wait until the next day. Chat with allies and head to the next portal, which leads to the City of Hidden Runes dungeon. It helps to have at least one Geo user in the party.
The dungeon features six platforms and a central platform with four colored symbols. Move across other platforms, activate runes, and battle monsters. Choosing the wrong runes causes damage, so plan moves carefully.
After each battle, send beams of light to symbols on opposite platforms. Screenshots below can help with the correct sequence.
Proceed to the top platform and watch the cutscene where Xiao appears. A lengthy video plays before speaking with teammates and locating Xiao in the cave. Completing this step unlocks the No Way Home achievement and access to a new dungeon.

Solving the Light at the End of the Tunnel and The End of the Road quests in the Kingdom of Insidious Illusions
Enter the dungeon and face various foes as Yan Fei. After combat, inspect the diary on the right side to learn more.
Turn the arrow back to travel in time and remove the small tree. If avoided, it will grow and block the forward arrow.
Advance the arrow, then repeat by examining the shaft on the right and pulling the lever to open the gate. This action also affects future events.
Move the arrow forward again, enter a new dimension, and confront the evil spirit. Use Xiao’s elemental abilities, dodge attacks, and unleash Elemental Burst when ready.
Next, left of the mine entrance, pick up another diary sheet, defeat the spider, and use the compass to turn the arrow twice back.
On the final step, move the arrow once more to point toward the large symbol below.
Following proper steps reveals a sibling figure and a precious chest to explore. To finish the quest chain, return to the surface and watch several lengthy cutscenes. The outcome includes the Peace of Mind achievement and valuable rewards.
