Enshrouded offers a robust crafting system built around gathering a variety of resources. Players mine, collect, and manufacture gear and utility items to survive. This guide covers armor, weapons, gliders, grappling hooks, and other essential tools, delivering practical steps and tips to help players endure and thrive in the world.

Remark: This guide will be updated as new content releases come to light.

How to craft and upgrade an Altar of Flame

The Altar of Flame serves as the foundation for establishing a base in Enshrouded. Crafting it requires five units of stone and an unobstructed space. An altar can even be placed within the Veil’s territory, broadening base options and defenses.

As players advance, altar upgrades may be needed. To upgrade, approach the altar and choose the upgrade option from the menu. The required tools and resources are shown here, providing a straightforward path to improvement.

If a player wishes to relocate or extend the base, increasing the flame becomes necessary. Separate resources are used for this expansion. To dismantle an altar, select Extinguish the Flame.

How to find the blacksmith

Upon placing the first Altar of Flame, the quest line updates to Find the Sleeping Survivor. A map marker guides the player to the blacksmith’s location, where the objective is to free the blacksmith and bring him to the shelter.

In the indicated area, two enemies may block progress. Acquiring a stealth capability helps in dealing with them quietly. If needed, players can engage in combat using stealth tactics to bypass or defeat the foes.

Another adversary awaits in the Cache of the Ancients, where the blacksmith hides. After clearing the area, interact with the glowing capsule to unlock the blacksmith’s availability for summoning. To summon him, a Summoning Staff crafted from twigs is used on the base territory.

How to build a workbench

A workbench is crafted by locating the required tools and assembling the components. It becomes invaluable for repairing worn equipment and creating building blocks for shelter and structures.

How do you make a bed?

A bed offers a more comfortable night’s rest. Players can find beds in the open world or build their own at a workbench, provided the needed materials are gathered.

Raw mattress:

Once the rough mattress is built, the recipe unlocks the rough wooden bed, enabling better rest and efficiency for the next day’s tasks.

How to build a chest to store things

Character inventories are limited, so shelters should include storage chests. Early on, players can craft small chests to organize items and resources. A few small chests help unload the backpack and secure gathered resources; each chest can hold a range of items up to a practical limit.

How to make a crochet

The crochet hook is essential for exploring dungeons and accessing distant areas. It requires a workbench and specific resources to craft. Players should ensure there is at least one hook in the inventory. For convenience, the tool can be placed in the designated character slot so it can be used when needed by pointing at a target and pressing the E key.

How to build a charcoal oven

Rescuing the blacksmith unlocks the charcoal oven. Players can meet at their shelter to view the recipe and required materials. Bricks are a key component; collecting around 20 units and placing the oven in a suitable location completes the setup.

How to build a forge

The forge becomes available after the blacksmith is rescued. This structure expands the player’s crafting capabilities, enabling more advanced metalwork and weapon production.

How to make a weapon

At game start, basic weapon designs appear if the necessary resources are present. Early options include a shield, a club, an onion-based weapon, and a wooden arrow. As progress continues and the blacksmith is in residence, more powerful options unlock, such as a rough sword, a spiked club, and a shield of courage. Players are advised to start with a shield to absorb damage while locating stronger weapons through exploration and boss challenges in pits.

How to make armor

Initial armor options begin with rags, offering minimal protection. Crafting a shield to block attacks can be more practical than wearing fragile early armor while resources are gathered. Once the blacksmith is summoned and the charcoal furnace and forge are operational, metal plates can be forged to craft a novice fighter’s armor. These pieces provide noticeably better protection than basic leather or rag gear.

How to make a planner

The glider, or planner, is one of the most useful tools for traversing the open world. It requires specific resources to craft and greatly eases exploration. If a required resource isn’t available, consult the in-game guidance or resource list to locate alternatives and ensure steady progress.
