While guiding players through Alan Wake 2, Saga can encounter locked caches that hold valuable items, inventory-expanding bags, and even weapons. This guide explains where to locate and unlock all cultist caches and how to obtain the lighthouse key.

Access to caches unfolds gradually. Some chests open only after advancing to a specific story chapter, while others become available once bolt cutters are found.

Examine the trailer beside the crime scene. A chest sits in front of it. Use the combination shown in the screenshot to unlock it.
Cultist Cache #2 – Inventory Improvement
- Chapter: Return 2: Heart;

After the first meeting with Alan, scan the southern beach area. Behind the tree debris an electronic-locked chest awaits discovery.

The next cache sits at the junction between Witch’s Hut and the large tree. A nearby key hides the access. Follow the yellow tree arrows to locate it.

In the private riverbank house, a box lies behind the fence. The lock combination is 658.

After receiving the key from the brothers, follow the road to the radio station. A small right-hand corner on the map hides a shelter protected by an electronic lock.

A lone hut, convertible into a safe room, contains the next box. A hint or password opens it. The password is 527.

Located beside the Ferris wheel in the amusement park. The code to unlock is 147.

Run to the well and search behind a large boulder. The chest is locked and the key lies behind the central park statue, as hinted.

During a visit to the biker workshop, a map marks all caches on Saga’s maps. Remember many caches sit behind doors opened only with bolt cutters—tools found after the fifth chapter as an FBI agent.
Proceed toward the lighthouse, then turn right at the fork. Enter the combination shown in the screenshot. If the first character is wrong, try a guess-based approach.
Cultist Cache #10

- Place: Wateree.
Once the water has fallen back, return to the caravan park and search under the caravan awning on the right. A key is on the counter; a clue is on the computer, and a plank at the gate must be climbed to reach the cache.
Cultist Cache #11
- Chapter: Return 3: Local;

Back in town, head to the pier. The receded water reveals an entrance to a coffin and a code of 496.

Chapter: Return 4: No chance;
Place: Clear waterfalls.
The box can be obtained in the second chapter as well, but it stays useful later when the bolt cutters are in hand. It lies behind a white van near the motel and is protected by an electronic lock.

On the way to the nursing home, cross the bridge, then turn right. A cache waits on a hill nearby.
Cult Cache #14
- Chapter: Return 4: No chance;

Head south and locate a broken pickup truck where a math puzzle unlocks a box with the code 177.
Cult cache #15
- Chapter: Return 5: Old Gods;
- Place: Clear waterfalls.
The remaining caches appear only after finishing the story chapter. Bolt cutters grant access to newer places. Cut the fence near the health center, follow the map arrows, and locate the key along the path.
Cultist cache #16
- Chapter: Return 5: Old Gods;

The next cache marker sits along the path from the storage area to the ranger station. Painted symbols on a nearby rock point the way.

The final cache in this region rests on the hill opposite the ranger station; its key hides behind the station’s chimney, outside the building.

Back at the motel, reopen the map. Two additional caches appear once bolt cutters are owned. Behind the restaurant, a small sealed room opens with the marked keypad shown in the screenshot.

Head to the pier and cut another cable to reveal the cache. The code is 697.
Cultist Cache #20

After this, the lake path opens to rental cottages. A locked cache sits in house no. 1. Walk through house 3 into the backyard and crawl over a fallen tree to the garden shed. Two trees bear numbers; the key lies behind the tree marked with a 2.
Cultist cache #21
- Chapter: Return 5: Old Gods;
- Place: Wateree.
The next-to-last cache sits behind the Knights of Kalevala workshop. Bolt cutters grant access. Enter the code 542 and prepare for trouble.
Cultist cache #22
- Chapter: Return 6: Scratch;
- Place: Clear waterfalls.
In the plot, the player returns to the police station and checks the basement. A bolt-cuttable grate reveals a cache with the combination 146 behind it.
Finding and opening all caches grants the lighthouse key, which appears in the last cache opened. At the lighthouse, players will find ammunition, medicine, and manuscript pages that illuminate the cult leaders’ activities.
