Effects and Tricks is a series of challenges for the Roses and Muskets event in Genshin Impact, where players have to fight in an arena with a wide variety of monsters. In the guide we discussed how to start and complete all the challenges, as well as how to get the available rewards.
Starting effects and tricks challenges
First, players must gain access to the Roses and Muskets event. To do this, you must complete a number of tasks and reach a certain adventure rank:
- Reach adventure rank 20;
- Complete the Archon mission ‘Prologue’. Chapter 3: Song of Dragon Freedom”;
- Open access to Fontaine.
If all conditions are met, complete the small quest “The Rumble of Muskets Breaks the Silence”, after which a special section will appear in the event log where you can go directly to the tests.
Test rules
You find yourself in an arena with enemies constantly appearing. Regardless of the complexity of the location, the enemies on any given level will always be the same. At the end of the challenge you will receive a specific medal, as well as a reward corresponding to the score earned.
As a boost, players can use special lighting (“T” key on PC). It will become active after collecting certain progress – to do this, simply destroy enemies.
We recommend that you first try at an easy location (point multiplier x1). Most likely, you can score 4000 points at this level to receive all the rewards. If you have a pumped-up team of strong heroes, you can try starting with standard (x2 rating multiplier) or difficult locations (x4 rating multiplier).
Night test in pouring rain
The opponents in this test are hilichurls, molds, mitachurls, Void mages and other enemies – the full list can be followed just before the start of the battle.
Don’t forget to use the special light every now and then, as you will receive the following bonus: for 12 seconds after use, every 4 seconds, a Hydro Shockwave is released by the active character, dealing damage when it hits an enemy. Cryo damage dealt by all team members is increased by 60%.
Please note that there are two trial characters available for this challenge. This is a good opportunity if you don’t have any upgraded heroes. Especially if you don’t have Cryo Heroes, Ayaka is a good companion for this challenge. Players with powerful units do not need this bonus.
- Collect 1000 points: Source Stones (30), Theater Tickets (50), Movie Token (80), Hero Experience (3);
- Collect 2000 points: Theater tickets (30), Movie coin (50), Holy Oil (4);
- Collect 4000 points: Theater Tickets (20), Movie Token (30), Magic Reinforcement Ore (6).
