Smuta Pre-Orders Go Global Through VK Play With Russian-Only Language Support

The creators behind the Russian role-playing action title Smuta from Cyberia Nova announced that pre-orders are accessible beyond Russia and the CIS, extending to a global audience. A recent note on the official site, though, signals there are specific caveats for players outside the CIS region. In short, international players can pre-order, but certain conditions apply.

In a friendly address to fans, the team explained that discussions with VK Play paved the way for a Russian-language version of Smuta to be offered abroad. The dialogue focused on making the game available outside the familiar home market, and the outcome reflects that effort. This means Smuta can be ordered from countries outside Russia and the CIS, broadening its reach while preserving the game’s original language for now.

The current setup requires a VK Play account and a Russian bank card for purchase. This framework enables international fans to obtain the game from VK Play, and there was a note that the title could also be received as a gift from friends and relatives in other regions. The gifting option adds flexibility for players who want to share the experience with someone overseas.

Later updates clarified that payments from foreign bank cards are still possible, yet the developers and VK Play cannot guarantee flawless operation of that payment route in all cases. This caveat underscores the practical limits of cross-border transactions when the game first launches in a non-domestic market.

The current pre-order price on VK Play stands at 1,612 rubles, reflecting a 20 percent discount. This pricing detail is part of the introductory offer designed to entice early adopters worldwide while the game remains primarily configured for the Russian market.

Earlier notices noted that a previously announced release for a separate title or feature, referred to as Problems, had its date pushed back to March 2024. That information, while related in timing to Smuta, pertains to a different product line within Cyberia Nova’s portfolio and confirms that the studio manages multiple projects with shifting schedules.
