How to start the quest “Complete the weapon masterpiece”.
The blueprints are located in the deserted village, which is swarming with goblins. Try to negotiate with them with the power of the illithid to avoid bloodshed. Goblins become neutral to you and you can safely explore this location.
We’ve marked the house you want in the screenshot below. To get in, break open the dilapidated wooden doors or go to the second floor, where the goblin guards are located, and jump into the hole in the floor, after attacking and breaking the web.
In the room, go to the chest. He is in the top right corner and next to him is a ladder that leads to another chest. In the latter you will find the infernal iron necessary for the companion Karlach quest. You can read what you can do with it in a separate manual.
Do not rush to open the chest, because there is a trap inside. Approach it with a character with a high Attention score and disarm the trap with Astarion or another hero with a high Agility score.
Pick up the blueprints, read them and, if you wish, go deeper into the room – there you will find a forge where this weapon will be forged. Without a sussur bark it’s useless, but it’s better to know its location right away so you know where to go later.

Where to find sussur bark
You will definitely come across the Sussura tree when you explore the Underdark. You can reach this location through the Broken Shrine in the Goblin Camp. You begin your journey to the Underdark at a Sellunite outpost. If you travel west, you will visit a myconid colony, and already in the southwest of it you will see a giant sussur tree. The main element of this location is a tree, more precisely, the flowers. Sussura flowers have the ability to block any magic.
Therefore, if you have a lot of mages in your team, be careful – here you cannot use spells, incantations or other skills, such as tricks or skills that require a spell slot. Turn your party members into warriors capable of melee combat – monsters live here and summon the rest of the pack as they enter battle.
Climb onto the branches of the tree and hold alt, find an area of the cortex that you can interact with. “Pick up” the item and head back to the Extinct Village to complete the weapon crafting.

Try to find a “grey” two-handed sword, dagger or sickle along the way. Only these items can be combined with Sussur Bark and used to craft weapons.
two-handed sword And dagger are quite common among both opponents and traders, but sickle can be found at the sacred pond in the Emerald Grove – it’s on the ground so just go to the pond and hold altto see the weapon. Be careful – this is someone else’s thing, which is why it’s better to press “Shift + C” to enter stealth mode and steal the sickle.

How to forge a “weapon masterpiece” – which option to choose
To forge a weapon masterpiece, go to the blacksmith shop and put the sussur bark from inventory while interacting with it. After pressing the “Combine” button, the fire will turn blue and the character will tell you which weapon can be forged:

To craft, simply place the “gray” weapon in the same cell in which you previously invested the sussur’s bark. Only gray weapons can be used: a dagger, a two-handed sword and a sickle. Keep in mind that you can only forge one weapon!
After forging, you will receive the selected weapon with a prefix “…of sussur”. The blade takes on the properties of a tree and begins to block magic. Only when the flowers do the “area” does the sussur weapon impose a state of silence on the enemy during an attack.
You can see the characteristics of all available weapons in the screenshots below.
It is difficult to choose a particular weapon from the possible weapons. We recommend that you act based on squad composition and current equipment. If one of your allies or your character is still walking with a “grey” weapon, you can forge a suitable item to make it easier to navigate Underdark.
Unlike armor, weapons are quite common in Baldur’s Gate 3 and you will most likely switch to a Sussur weapon after a few hours of gameplay.
