After Embracer Group announced the purchase of multiple studios from Square Enix, the return of the Deus Ex franchise became known. Said the head of Eidos Montreal Studio David Anfossi during a conference call.
Anfossi noted that the game will run on Unreal Engine 5. A new team will take over the production.
We are the crazy ones who decided to revive the Deus Ex brand as our first game. New team, very complex production, new technology, new studio – it was hard to disagree.
During the conversation, David Anfossi also shared the success of the series. The franchise has sold 12 million copies throughout its history and has an average Metacritic score of 83.
