miHoYo unveiled details for the upcoming 3.4 update titled “String Harmony Night,” introducing fresh content and celebratory Chinese New Year gifts for Genshin Impact. The patch brings a mix of new characters, cosmetic options, expanded map areas, a unique boss encounter, a new card game expansion, and several events that align with the festive season.
- Two new playable characters are on the way: Al-Haytama, a five-star Dendro swordsman, and Yao Yao, a four-star Dendro spear fighter. Their abilities, combat roles, and synergies are designed to broaden team composition and strategy within the game’s Dendro-focused playstyles.
- Skins are planned for Lisa and Ayaka. Lisa’s skin will be available at no cost, while Ayaka’s skin will require purchase. These visual updates offer new aesthetics and personalization options for players who enjoy cosmetic customization.
- A significant new location expands the desert region in Sumeru, signaling a notable boost to map exploration and region-based content. This release promises fresh environments, lore cues, and potential new materials for progression and crafting.
- A boss encounter featuring a dendro-themed worm design introduces a fresh combat challenge. Players can expect unique mechanics, phase changes, and loot aligned with this organism’s dendro attributes.
- New content for the TCG mode, with a focus on the Sacred Call of the Seven, expands strategic options for players who engage in card-based battles within the game’s universe.
- Four events are planned, including Idle Sea Lanterns, offering limited-time activities, rewards, and opportunities to earn items and resources through diverse gameplay experiences.
In honor of the Chinese New Year, all players will receive 10 intertwined destinies and a four-star Li Yue character choice as a celebratory bonus, reinforcing the season’s generosity and community spirit.
Al-Haytam and Yao Yao will appear in the banners during the first half of the patch, while Hu Tao and Ye Lan will headline the second half, providing varied options for players seeking distinct playstyles across the update cycle.
