The Alicante audiovisual community hosts a revival day for the film industry on a scheduled Friday in the City of Light
The Alicante Audio-Visual Association (AAA) organized a revival day for the cinematographic industry to celebrate progress and collaboration. The event enjoys support from regional television, the Valencia Institute of Culture (IVC), the Digital Transformation Projects Community (SPTD), Triode Base, and the collaboration of other Valencian audiovisual producers and professionals. The goal is to strengthen the local sector by aligning criteria, sharing insights, and fostering opportunities for both regional and national productions. This collective effort emphasizes a vibrant, self-reliant industry in Alicante and the wider Valencian Community.
Manu Galipienso, president of Alicante Audiovisual, explains that gatherings like this are essential for the sector. He notes that Valencia production companies must meet to generate synergy for the industry’s future. The message is clear: if local producers don’t organize and compete, productions from outside may bypass the region, making revival of the local texture harder. This event aims to keep Alicante’s audiovisual landscape dynamic and connected to broader opportunities.
Round tables
The program features two round-table discussions. The first examines the institutional landscape with participants including Antonio Rodes, current director of SPTD and head of the Alicante facilities, Cesar Marti from À Punt responsible for Content, Francesc Felipe, assistant audiovisual director at IVC, and Carlos Soler from Triodos Bank, with Miguel Molina as moderator. The session will map the current framework, funding mechanisms, and strategic roles for regional players in shaping future projects.
The second round table brings together representatives from the Valencian Community manufacturers’ associations, such as Antonio Mansilla from AVAPI, Lorraine Torres from AVANT, a representative from AVEPA, and Miguel Molina from PAV, with Manu Galipienso moderating. The discussion will cover the present state of Alicante’s studios, Valencia’s support for audiovisual production through IVC and À Punt, financing in the sector, gender balance, and professional training. This dialogue aims to surface practical steps and collaborative models for sustainable growth.
Galipienso emphasizes the strength of the region, noting that Alicante hosts some of Europe’s best studios. He highlights the potential of establishing an Audiovisual Cluster within the Valencian Community and stresses the importance of solid backing from Valencian institutions, including the departmental bodies for Innovation, Industry, and Culture. The aim is to position Ciudad de la Luz as a hub for regional production with robust support networks and access to modern facilities.
The conference takes place at the DD1 building in Ciudad de la Luz, starting at 10 o’clock. The day is designed to foster meaningful conversations, practical collaboration, and concrete plans that can accelerate local projects while inviting external partnerships that respect and strengthen the regional ecosystem. This event is presented as a milestone in the ongoing effort to revitalize the Valencian audiovisual industry and to keep it connected with national and European opportunities.
