Open to professionals across the Valencian Community, the 1st gloVAL Industry Conference brings together a broad spectrum of the audiovisual sector. The event will feature multiple panels and roundtable discussions, with input from renowned experts from both the national and international stages. Attendees will gain insights into the sector, hear about current challenges, and collect practical strategies for navigating the rapidly changing industrial landscape.
Leading figures set to participate include Dorothe Beinemeier from the German production company Red Balloon Film; Nick Bower of Riverstone Pictures in the United Kingdom; Gloria Bretones of Begin Again Films; Nuria Landete and María Oliva from Sidereal; Rosa Bosch; Eduardo Guillot of Mostra de Valencia; Juanjo Moscardo from Cosabona Films; Juan Soleraby of Sideways Films; and Melissa Vega from Dandeloo, the French international animation sales agency. Their presence underscores the event’s international reach and its commitment to high-level dialogue about current and future trends in film, television, and animation.
The conference will also welcome Fermin Crespo, the general manager of the Digital Transformation Projects Association (SPTD), which oversees the studies linked to the event. This initiative forms part of the 2023 Action Plan to support the internationalization of Valencian companies. It was launched with the collaboration of the Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC) and the Valencian Audiovisual Academy (AVAV), with strong support from Ciudad de la Luz Studios, which generously provided space for the event.
The Valencian Office for External Distribution of Audiovisual Products (gloVAL) operates under the umbrella of the Ministry of Culture and Sport, guided by the Institut Valencià de Cultura and administered by the Valencian Audiovisual Academy. Daniel Méndez, who hails from Alicante, has been appointed director of this office, established last February after a competitive tender process held in May. This leadership aims to streamline distribution and enhance visibility of Valencian audiovisual work on a global scale, aligning with broader regional objectives for cultural export and industry growth.
Throughout the conference, participants will explore strategies for co-production, international sales, and distribution. The gathering is designed to foster connections between local talent and international buyers, investors, and peers, creating opportunities for collaboration that can lead to new projects and wider markets for Valencian creators. By sharing experiences and case studies, the event seeks to equip attendees with tangible keys to success in a rapidly evolving entertainment landscape.
