AvtoVAZ will start installing Chinese JAC engines on Lada Vesta 12:50

AvtoVAZ has chosen the Chinese company JAC as a strategic partner for the production of the units. In this respect informs Telegram channel “Autoflow” with a link to a resource in a domestic organization.

According to the channel, AvtoVAZ will localize 150 horsepower 1.5-liter JAC engines in Russia. (engine index – HFC4GB24D). These units are also equipped with Moskvich 3 crossovers, created on the basis of JAC JS4 machines.

In the future, Chinese engines will be installed on Lada Vesta in special configurations, then they will appear in new models, including a crossover and a minivan. The report states that other models (Niva, Granta, Largus) are not planned to be equipped with this engine.

It was noted that the localization of JAC engines, together with their delivery to the Moskvich plant, will provide sufficient production volume for the project to pay for itself. AvtoVAZ will also purchase CVT gearboxes from the same company, which will save time in fine tuning and calibration work for the mutual compatibility of the engine and transmission.

Formerly AvtoVAZ continued Lada Granta production with anti-lock brakes.
