In 2024, sales of two new off-road vehicles of the Chinese brand BAIC will start in Russia. Company representatives reported this.
The diesel-powered BJ40 mid-size SUV will be launched in the first half of the year. In China, the two-liter diesel engine produces 163 hp. (380 Nm) and works with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The SUV will retain the all-wheel drive system with reduction gears and differential locks. Currently, only the BJ40 gasoline model is available in the Russian Federation, with prices starting from 4.4 million rubles.
A larger-framed model, the BAIC BJ60, will appear in dealerships towards the end of next year. In China, the car’s engine range includes a diesel unit with a 48-volt starter generator (163 hp, 400 Nm) and a gasoline engine (266 hp; 406 Nm). BJ60 and BJ40 assembly for the Russian market is planned to be installed at Avtotor in Kaliningrad.
