Experts have stated that battery removal can now be done using an electric current that loosens the adhesive that holds the battery in place. A nine-volt battery is all that is needed. This method has been found to be reliable and does not require the use of expensive special tools.
“But we still prefer to remove screws or other fasteners that require removal. This approach is better because it doesn’t require cleaning or other preparation of the battery before installation. I’d also like to see the special adhesive used on the iPhone 16 come on sale. Regardless, the new solution is really cool,” iFixit noted.
The company also praised Apple for its detailed iPhone repair guide, which is significantly superior to similar documentation from other manufacturers.
